Cash turned suddenly and looked at the wolves, he charged at them and reared, kicking a few, he snorted and arched his neck, daring them to touch his herd.

starr couldnt see but she could hear again she was tired and weak but she whinnied one last time hoping somebody, anybody would here her screams for help. she thought in then back of her mind sat the thought that she and the filly would die from starvation or even the cold, it started to get dark and she didnt know what was coming maybe some animal would come along and start eating them, she knew she was not any more than a mile away from that wolf den what if they scented their blood and hunted them down like blood hounds. she nickered hoping she would hear the filly nicker back.
