Chien nodded gently. "No problem, you could join my pride, if you want." He offered gently, before he started listening to Magi. After her story, he nodded. "Alright." Truthfully he didn't think it was that terrible, but he didn't say anything. "I know that you feel that you have been through a lot and what I am going to do will make it worse, but I am telling you now it is the right thing to do. Whether I kill it or not, the cub will die. That was probably why your parents tried to kill you. They just didn't do a very good job. If I don't kill it, it will either be eaten by hyenas or other lions, trampled by buffalos, or killed by other lions. The only way a cub can survive is if it's mother is with a pride so that others can watch whilst you go hunt. Because, if you go and hunt without others watching, you can be sure the filthy dogs would have eaten your little one alive before you can walk five feet."
Chien stated the information emotionlessly, as it was true. This was nature. It was harsh, only the fittest, the best, survived. Only the ones with the best methods, the best headstart, strong parents, good decisions. "So yes. When the cub is born, I will kill it. Or them. Whichever. That is how the world works, so unless you want to die of depression, look on the bright side. I make my kills painless. Hyenas and buffaloes usually eat and trample cubs while they are alive, so that would be a much more painful death." He said easily, before looking at her. "Do you get it now?"
