When close enough, she finally leapt, her claws unsheathing in a split second. As she did, the hare spotted her, but it was too late. It started a jump, but her claws raked into it's soft hide, bringing it back down to the ground. Her jaws closed round it's windpipe, flicking her head to break it's spine, killing it instantly.
With the hare killed, Vaara crouched, sinking her teeth into the hare. Even though it was killed, the battle wasn't won yet. Other's could still steal her kill. The she-cat tore at the hare, eating it quickly with almost mechanical efficiency.
