There was a fire in my eyes, that only appeared when i fought or really felt the need to challenge. But yet even though I had almost cut him he withheld, which made me take a small step back. He had no intention of snaking me which was good, but now he stood next to Blanche. My eyes shifted from her to him and back. I as shocked, but not surprised at the least. Me and Blanche were close, we had traveled together for a little under a year or less and I had thought she would want to stay with me, but I guessed wrong. Taking one more long look into the stallions emotionless eyes, which a since of determination seemed to burn now, before I nod to him. I wouldn't be able to fight him to keep Blanche, but i wanted to. Every fiber in my body wanted to protect her from any stallion good or bad, but in doing so, i would be taking away her chance to be a mother and truly protected. So in slow motion I walk up to Blanche give her a quick touch to the nose before turning away.

ʙʟᴀɴᴄʜᴇᴅ ᴘʀᴇᴍᴏɴɪᴛɪᴏɴ

What was happening? Everything seemed to be falling apart, and yet it felt... right. Almost. Blanche stood there, looking from Lily to Judge, who had moved up to stand beside her, meaning that he had most likely settled for keeping Blanche and letting Lily go. A feisty mare was always harder to deal with. She had seen it before and, no doubt, she would see it again. If she joined this stallion, she would be better-protected, but... There was that slight fear that she didn't really know who this stallion was. Blanche knew Lily. She was a little rough around the edges, but she had taken to Blanche, treating her like a younger sister, sticking up for her when the time called for it, and now she was leaving her... The white mare wanted to call out to her, to tell her to come back, to stay. Lily was leaving her in the company of a stranger. All she knew about him was his name, and while he seemed nice, Blanche had also met stallions that covered up their true personality to get a mare, only to display violence and cruelty. Was he one of those? She let out a soft nicker to her friend, but that's all she could manage while she watched the ebony horse walk away.

Everything ends. Her mother's words came back to her as she dipped her head, letting those blue eyes shut. Good or bad, everything ends, my sweet.

.: Unpredictable Mystery :.

The mare looked the bat stallion of as she watched him submerged from the top of the hill. Mystery's ears poked foreword as he came down the grassy, damp hill. The gentle wind blew through her black and brown mane. "Hello" the specked mare uttered to the stallion. " I'm Unpredictable Mystery, but you may call me Mystery. " she wanted to make sure he knew her whole name. "Who am I speaking to?" Mystery took a few steps foreword as she asked her question.

Slews Verdict

He watched in shock as Lily began to walk away.This wasn't part of the plan,if there had ever been one.The two seemed extremely close,and by being there he was breaking them a part.Judge also knew that if he forced Blanche to stay,she might be miserable with the loss of her friend.The dun knew that feeling of loss,and would not let himself be the cause.Even as it pained him do so,Judge turned and took a few steps away from Blanche,giving her the full control of what happened here.Everything that would come of this day now rested on the white mare's decision.Choose the one who had protected her,or go for the stallion who had promised to."You choose."

ʙʟᴀɴᴄʜᴇᴅ ᴘʀᴇᴍᴏɴɪᴛɪᴏɴ

Judge was letting her decide. Strange vs friend. Protector vs protector. She took one long stride after Lily, watching the black figure shrinking slowly, ready to leave her without turning and saying goodbye. All she would have was a nuzzle on her shoulder. And then she turned back, moving in closer to the stallion, unsure if this was the right choice, but needing to make one. Here was a stallion who had fought nearly to the death to keep his herd, and there was Lily, walking away without trying to do anything about her friend. Clearly, their relationship had not been as strong as Blanche had once thought. Like most horses in her life, she was leaving.

Slews Verdict

The dun stallion felt his heart fall as the white went after Lily,but once more it rose higher as she turned and came closer to him.This was surely a difficult choice,and he could not try to influence her in any way.Only Blanche knew what was going through her thoughts,but Judge would do anything to attempt to get a glimpse into her thought process.Things could be completely different or completely the same,depending on her choice.Walk into the unknown or chase after what was familiar.

ʙʟᴀɴᴄʜᴇᴅ ᴘʀᴇᴍᴏɴɪᴛɪᴏɴ

Blanche lifted her head, arching her neck and looking over him, giving one smooth flick to her tail before turning to face the same direction as him, watching that black shape disappear. "You'll fight," she said stiffly. "If we're in danger... You won't run." It was not a question, it was a firm statement meant to explain why she had chosen to stick by his side instead of departing with her "friend." Lily had done nothing, said nothing, and that was not the way a herd worked. Judge would most likely gain more mares. After all, he was a handsome horse, even with the scars, and an impressive one at that. He'd most likely have no trouble in winning them over, especially now that he had her. Seeing another mare with a stallion often comforted others who were in search of a herd, as if Blanche would know if he wasn't going to be good for them.

This decision was harder then I let it appear and I would have cried if I wasn't as heartless as I was. Though just before I left forever I turned round right as her back was to me. She would have never saw the love that I shared in our unspoken bond. If she had just been facing my direction she would have seen that this wasn't because I never loved her it was because I wanted her the safe to live a life not following me. Granted I would see her again but she would ignore me as I left her in the grasp of a stranger, but he had proved loyal to me, though I couldn't see myself in his herd he was perfect for her even if she didn't know it. So in the last few seconds I took in her white pelt, I would never forget her white pelt and how she was so kind and smart even if she was to shy to show it. Drifting my eyes from Blanche to Judge, i just hope I'm right, but i look at him with protection i would make sure he would protect her or i would find him and end him, then i drifted my eyes back to Blanche, love glistened in them. I had grown to know the real her and she had grown to know me, so I turn away from her, sadness in my eyes.

The stallion nodded, inspecting the mare."Ah, Nice to meet you then, Mystery." He said. His gaze strayed behind her a bit"Call me Archer. You don't have a herd, do you? He said this more like a statement than a question. A lone mare was a lucky find. His greeting of the mare was suddenly cut short as another mare, Lily, burst through. He snapped at her as she passed bad-temperedly. He quickly turned back to Mystery, watching her carefully.

Caprice shook her mane and stepped forward. There wasn't much on her mind at all. She just was listening to the humming of insects and birdsong. She flicked her tail, shooing away a few offending flies. Capri finally looked up, casting a long look straight at the clouds, her eyes closing as her mane whipped around her neck.

Ace of Spades

They went along, slowly at first. One of Spade's ears faced his rump to hear how Hicktown was going along, whilst the other was perked ahead, searching for any dangers. Spade made sure not to go too far, and slowly, the duo made progress. Sometime along the journey, the rhythm of Hicktown's hooves hitting the earth got faster and more sure, and Spade found that he went along at a much more relaxed pace, not the slow, careful walk he had had just a while ago. Now, Spade's ears were concentrated on the road, just flicking back now and then to confirm the sound of hoofbeats behind him.

As Hicktown got excited, Spade felt a gentle smile form on his muzzle, and he nodded, though his eyes met hers, warning her to be cautious. It never helped to be overconfident, though her current openness was good. He felt happy that she started to explore, started to try out different places to place her hooves. Spade, now not as worried about Hicktown, placed a bit more emphasis on scouting for a cave, though he still looked back every now and then. One could never be too cautious, after all.

After a bout of climbing, Spade spotted an outcrop of rocks above them, and he narrowed his eyes. That probably meant there was a cave at the landing, so Spade nodded quietly to himself as he planned out a route. Right now he was not sure if it was occupied or not, though the scents on the ground seemed to suggest that they were alone. Spade nodded, bending down as he snatched up a mouthful of grass, feeling a little tired. It had been a long climb, and Spade was a large stallion. Heaving his entire bulk up unto the mountain against gravity was an arduous task, but Spade was used to hard work.

Looking towards Hicktown as she closed up the short distance between them, he spoke once more. "There's a cave, just above. I think it's empty, but I'll have to check to make sure." The dapple looked towards the cave once more, before nodding to himself and looking at her. "Stay here for a second, alright?" His voice was quiet, as it always was, and Spade waited for the palomino's confirmation, or views. Spade didn't want her up there, as if there was a fight, Spade needed space, and he didn't want Hicktown caught in the crossfire.
