I see the clan comeing 'sheesh' I think grabbing Yoto and taking him to a safer place, 'he is much heavier than before' I Start running faster even though his weight is slowing me down.I look at Yoto he has a pout on his face, "ok we're almost out of sight from the clan" I run a little more and stop where the high grass is "here! just stay here!" I snap at him. "ok!" he snapped back at me. I mutter under my breath.

I let out a yelp as she picked me up "hey!' he pouted. "we're almost out of sight!" she snapped at me. I let out a pout. I bounce up and down and she runs "umm.... your mouth is wet!" She snapped, "Here....... stay here!" "ok!" I snapped back. I disobeyed her as she ran away. I started to chase a mouse and grin as I caught it, "You're mine!" I carried it by the tail and threw it in the air. "NO!" it managed to escape and I chased out to a visible part of the area I chased it until I ran into another older hyena. (Malkia) I yelped looking at the hyena and lay down scared at its size.

Jewels eyes felt caked shut but she forced them open at a call from the lead female. She lumbered to her paws and nudged Gem getting a squeal of protest. She huffed and grabbed his scruff shaking him slightly until he opened his eyes and looked up at her sleepily. She hurried out of the den and padded over to the Matriarch laying Gem down she nuzzled the higher ranked female submissively before picking up her pup again and padding a little bit away. Waiting.

Gem looked down at the other cub that did not smell of clan. He let out a small bay wanting to play with another cub. He felt sometimes lonely in the clan but he shut his mouth at a look from his mother.

Vredestichter

Vredestichter let out a small yawn as she stretched in her small den.She lazily climbed from her den as the sun quickly warmed her.She shook some dried grass from her pelt as she stood by her den.Letting out a small sigh she looked around at the small group of her clan mates that had already awoken.Vredesticher scanned the group for Malkia.

Ｊ Ｉ Ｒ Ｏ

The brown hyena laid in the beginning of a river, his brown pelt soaked to his skin. The sun that shone down on him was nearly unbearable when wearing his thick fur coat, rather than the thin pelt that striped or spotted hyenas normally wore. It was awful. Already this morning, his tongue was out as he panted, trying to cool himself off. The wide-mawed male rolled over into the water, coating his top half in mud, which made things a little easier.

Jiro than stood, grabbing the haunch of a zebra he had found earlier and began to peel of the flesh in long strips, chewing them once or twice, and then swallowing them down. It was a good breakfast, and Jiro had some weight to him, since it was now the wet season and prey was more than plentiful. Even now, as he lay stretched out by the river, herds of prey animals were also gathering by the water, aware of the hyena's presence, but too enamored by the river to care about him. And that made hunting easy.

Ｍ Ａ Ｌ Ａ Ｃ Ｈ Ｉ

The air was heavy with the promise of rain. Malachi enjoyed the rainy season. In fact, it was his favorite time of the year. Prey was plentiful, as was water. While it was still hot, at least the water allowed for some sort of ease to the baking sun. And still, the old hyena was thin, bones sticking out from under his pelt. The females that ruled the clan were harsh and unforgiving to the males beneath them. Malachi ate dead last and sometimes went without food. When there was something left, it was scraps. Little chunks of meat that clung to bones that were more work than what they were worth. But Malachi would've starved to death without them.

He pulled himself from his narrow den, greeting the hot sun with a slim smile as he wiggled his rear back and forth in a show of delight. Sure, he was the lowliest member of the pack, but he was alive. No one could take that happy soul that resided in his chest away from him. It was what he clung to.

Malkia watched the clan gather at her call, each giving her a respectful nuzzle while she held her head high with dignity, her eyes scanning the group for any slackers. She noticed Vredestichter had stood back while looking at the group for someone, flicked her tail in dismissal at the thought as the female was here and that's all that mattered. Another brief over the group showed that Malachi had failed to come at her call, as did her second in command. Giving one last 'whoop' to gather the last of the clan, the matriarch looked directly at the gathered hyenas. "There is a kill near the eastern border, if we hurry we can get it before the valtures and other scavengers pick it off." She informed the clan, turned and gave a whoop that signaled to 'move out', then ran in the direction the scent came from. If the lingering members failed to make it to the kill in time to eat, that was there burden and fault and she'd not be to blame. Soon enough, the body of a dead wildabeast came into view, vulteres already tearing at it and gathering. With a fierce snarl, Malkia dived into the flock and attacked the nearest carrion eating bird, claiming the kill as the clans'.

Gevaar listened intently as Malkia started speaking. When he heard the word carrion, he nodded, narrowing his eyes. That would mean getting some food. As she ran, leading the way, Gevaar came too, his long legs covering the distance quickly as he ran. His paws kicked up small clouds of dust, which bellowed gently at his feet, before settling, turning his black paws a more dusty colour.

As they reached the carrion, Gevaar snarled at the vultures as well, doing a fake charge to send them scattering. He then gave a laugh of excitement, seeing the birds take to the air. With that taken care of, he looked at Malkia, bowing his head as he waited for her and the other females to eat first.

Jewel followed as quickly as possible with a pup in her jaws but she didn't mind the extra weight. She did mind however the pups squirming so when they reached their destination she gave him a nip on the rear giving him a look when a let out a small sound of pain then stared up at his mom indignantly.

Gem sat down on his throbbing rear and looked at the others around him. He heard a cackling laugh and went to investigate walking over to the male while trying to mimic his laugh.

Gevaar watched as Jewel, third in command came over, bringing her pup. Gevaar was a little confused by that, as pups were usually left in the den, with one or two hyena's babysitting. Perhaps Jewel wanted to show the pup a kill.

The pup waddled over, trying to mimic the laugh Gevaar had just made. Gevaar obligingly smiled. "Heya there little guy." He said, crouching down so the pup could reach him if it wanted to. The moment this guy grew older, Gevaar would snap if he went near him without respect, but currently, he was a pup. A pup's rank was determined by their mother's rank till they no longer required her to survive. And all female ranks were higher then male ones, not to mention Jewel wasn't any low ranked hyena. No, in fact she was third in command, which put her pretty high up the clan's ranks. So Gevaar looked at the pup curiously, waiting for an answer.

Abina trotted around the plains looking around. Scenting the air constantly to look out for enemies, she soon caught the scent of a fresh kill close by. She headed twords the scent, stepping lightly as her paws twisted the dirst beneath her. Her bright brown eyes looked back and fourth constantly.
