Devil nodded as well. "You're welcome." He said, before looking to where she directed. "Unfortunately, yes. Two of my mares got into a squabble. I told them to work it out, and told no one else to interfere. If any of the rest of us interfered, it would transform into something larger then just a fight, and I didnt want that. Making the two of them settle it amongst themselves is better then having them either live with hatred towards the other, or having them make me and my lead mare take sides. I told my lead mare to stop them if they get too rowdy though, so Im not too worried." He said truthfully, though he also said that also to reconfirm his own plan to himself. He hoped they would settle it soon, all the noise may attract a predator. He knew they had to settle it though, so he took it kind of like necessary noise.

Frankly, he hated seeing his mares unhappy, especially at each other so he couldnt fight the cause away. His ears flicked, a little in annoyance, wondering why they all couldnt just get along. It couldnt be helped, though.

"So, what do you think of the smoke?" He asked her, wanting to know what she thought about it. It was also because he was thinking about it, and wanted another point of view, mainly.

Rose shrugged "Iris loves it so is we take her to look at it it's likely that she might calm down" Rose neighed "Burn it must be hot because the fish are burning."

Devil looked at her, nodding. "Good." It was hard to tell, but he was impressed. He stared at Iris. "Yes you do, for all the sarcastic comments which just made everything worse." He said, looking at her. He snorted, and looked at Rose. "Really now?" He said, thinking. How many mares just showed one's position. Jace had two, and that was just one across from three, so Devil was not going to push it, but there was a loner...

A smile true to his name formed on his lips, and he chuckled. "What do you think my odds of success are if I... Checked him out?" He said, partly to himself, partly to Rose. He looked at Rose. "Let the two squabble it out, dont take sides. Move them to safety if necessary.

He turned, going off at a swift trot. Once he saw Diego and Kite, he almost laughed. Diego was standing next to Kite, almost smothering her. That was a bad move, right there. It would mean he would have a handicap. Intending to use the handicap to the best of his ability, Devil stepped up to right in front of Diego, tossing his head challengingly. "Hello." He said suavely, happy.

With Diego standing next to Kite, he couldnt kick out because Devil knew the expression well. He didnt want Kite to even get a scratch, so he'd lay over a puddle for her to step on it if he could, so her hooves wouldnt get dirty. The only way Diego could move, was to back away. Which Devil could use to his advantage as well.

Ignoring the pretty much stuck stallion, Devil turned to Kite. "Hey there, my name's Devil Fire, what's yours?" As he said this, his neck was bowed, and his tail threatening as he swished it, challenging Diego to stop Devil from talking to Kite. The sun shone upon his coat, setting it alight, his ginger mane and tail like flares of a fire.

Diego/Andalusian/stallion/with Kite
Diego snorted ,and didn't like the looks of this new stallion's advances on Kite. He hated to fight ,but if he absoultely had to he will.He kept his grey pelted head held high,and went around this other stallion ,and made his way to Kite; One false move,and this other stallion will get it.

Kite was about to answer the stallions question when she saw Diego move. She back up, away from Diego to give him a little room. She was still behind her herd stallion but her eyes were on the new stallion. Watching him closely and wondering what he would do now. Kite was ready to move if they started to fight with each other.

Devil gave a slight frown, though inside he was grinning as Diego finally made a move. He was a little surprised that Diego had not retaliated. He was more submissive then Devil had originally thought, as he had just showed that he had allowed Devil to talk to his mare, and that Devil could completely ignore him. Devil shrugged to himself, though, snorting a little when Kite moved away. He could tell she was ready for a fight, but was wondering what he would do.

Seeing Diego's nonexistant resistance, he huffed, before turning back to Kite with a smile, continuing to ignore the stallion. "So, as I said, what do you think about the smoke?" The question was one that he was thinking on for a while, after all. He wondered how Rose was doing back there. As long as she wasn't calling for him, he figured it would be fine as what she would call for him was when Meadow and Iris got physical, or some leopard attacked them, though he highly doubted it, or the island moving again. And the last reason he would already know from where he was. Which left him free to play around here.

He saw that she respected her stallion, though, so any wise cracks about how he was letting a random stallion-him- just walk up and strike a conversation was kept to himself. It let him gain an advantage, and send a message, so very frankly, he didn't mind. In fact, he was very happy Diego had behaved that way. He looked at Kite, waiting for her answer.

Kite looked to the smoke then back to the stallion "It seems to be at the far end of the island or maybe even off the island." She said, her tail flicking calmly and to get rid of the pesky flies. She took a glance at her stallion wondering why he was so calm with another stallion that was clearly trying to get Kite. The mare looked at Devil and changed the subject back to his herd for a moment "Your mares are annoying. Sorry to say."

Devil nodded. "Yeah, I know." It seemed that she realised her stallion was being too submissive too. In some ways, it was a good thing, he'd suppose. Devil snorted when she spoke once more, his ears laying back against his head for a moment. He didn't like any comments towards his herd, especially not negative ones. He knew how she could get to that conclusion though, as he himself found the two a little annoying with their refusal to make up for it. As such, he didn't hold it against her, but his posture got a little more cold for a moment, telling her that he really didn't like her beating up his herd. He did understand where she was coming from though, so he showed that by relaxing a moment later. It wasn't a comment made off the handle, it was a comment that had been thought about, that made sense. So Devil tried not to mind.

"They are a loving bunch, really. The entire squabble just happened because one of my mares disrespected me, and another disciplined her before I could. The mare wasn't exactly in the right place to do that though, so my other mare got a little miffed." He then snorted in displeasure at the thought. "And of course, they start squabbling and being sarcastic. They usually are nice company... I don't really know what got into them." He wasn't really one for talking about his problems, but if that could solve the misconception about his herd, then he would do it. He then shrugged. He knew his herd was imperfect, but to him, it was perfect before Iris and Meadow got into that fight, and it would be great again after. The fact that they were fighting irritated him, though, and he wished they would just apologise, stop being nitpicky, and get over it.

"It's alright, though, no offense taken. " He said with a shrug. His tail gave a flick, and he wondered why she had switched the subject back.

Kite noticed his posture stiffen at her comment but it didn't bother her. She was blunt and didn't care if she hurt someone's feelings. She had already with Diego. Kite flicked her tail again "Seems like they don't know how to listen." She stated again, just letting her thoughts out of her mouth. She watched the stallion closely. She lifted her head slightly.

As Kite spoke once more Devil smirked. "Oh, I wouldn't say that. They listen when it matters." He said, not minding that comment. Though it struck home, and to be honest he was a little bit stung, he recognised it as her honest opinion. But that was his honest opinion as well and he wasn't going to change it. "I'll just let them shout at each other or something till they settle it. I don't want hatred to stay in my herd for too long, after all." He cocked his head, arching an eyebrow. "But I'm curious, what makes you think that?"
