Mist looked past him. "I-I wanted to see if Heartkit is ok" she said knowing they were going to kick her out.

Ebony nuzzled her and faced the other cats.

Nightshadow growled again and, knowing that she could not really attack Ebony while she was holding the kit, said, "At least let her eat some real prey." She gestured to the fresh-kill pile.

Jasperwing heard voices, and followed them

Ebony glanced at the pile of mice for a moment and picked up the kit. "Choose."

Mercy turned her attention towards Heartkit, shaking her head, knowing she'd be okay in the paws of the medicine cat
