Owlpaw followed Blackclaw, waving his tail in delight.

Nightshadow reached the river. She stared at it for a moment before she caught the scent of a kit. Frowning, she tilted her head to identify the direction of the scent. After a moment's consideration, she followed the river upstream. It wasn't long before she saw it - a tiny tortoiseshell kit huddled on the riverbank. She let out a mew of surprise and trotted over to the kit.

Shadowfang sighed and shook his head. I must be getting too old, he thought. He hadn't remembered CInderpaw had become Cinderclaw.

The spotted kit gasped as she heard someone padding toward her. she tried letting out a hiss, but all that came out was a croaky mew.

Nightshadow let out a reassuring purr as she suppressed an angry growl at this little cat's mother for abandoning the kit. She began to rub the kit's fur the wrong way to dry it.
