Shy turned her head away from Decoy still upset over what he said earlier as Lakota whinnied happily at her father

I stop short when she turns away and sigh. The pain from the encounter with Lori's father still sitting heavily in both my head and heart. I swish my tail as I lay down beside Lakota and motion for Image to join us if she's willing. I sigh softly. Life was so much easier when I had Lori, I think to myself. The thought comes so fast it causes tears to spill over before I can stop them. I just hoped the pain didn't show too much.

Shy saw his pain and couldn't help but comfort him "what's wrong Decoy?" She asked softly

I lift my head slowly and look up at Shy. I breath deep before attempting to speak. "Lori's father. We came across him today and I attacked him when he began "joking" and calling me killer. He blames me for Lori's death," I pause to keep myself from exploding. Then, I continue, "Riva made me stay back and watch as she toyed with him! She was pretending to be kind, of course, but still. He is mine to deal with. Mine. But Riva doesn't understand the pain he caused me and the reasons for which he is mine to deal with. He threatened to kill both Maria and I if Lori didn't sell Maria and then when Maria was gone, he took Riva from me. Then, he goes and blames me when my best friend is killed! Lori was my best friend. My only true friend and she died trying to keep me alive while I tried to save her but couldn't and he blames me for that!" I am silent after that. I nuzzle Lakota so she will know that even though I am angry, I won't hurt anyone.

Lakota felt bad for her daddy as she licked his cheek "It's okay daddy, Zack and the other human will protect you." She only knew his name because others said it

"Nothing bad will happen but you need to get Riva back when you've calmed down your anger there's no reasoning with you if your angry." Shy sighs

I sigh and nuzzle my younger daughter with a smile. Then, I look up at Shy. "I can't Shy. She's gone to Maria. And right now, I'm going nowhere near my sister. I've waited for Riva before I can wait again. But if I go after her, I'm going to make it worse, Shy," I look up at her and then I glance at my older daughter, just to make sure she's still here.

"And if you don't go after her she'll never forgive you!" Shy shook her head

"I am just going to make it worse! Trust me Shy, Maria wants me nowhere near her or the colt Riva birthed so I'm not going! Even though I'm a stallion, I can not defend myself against Maria!" I snort angrily at her.

Shy shook her head standing "you don't understand your to stubborn and angry at this time once you cool off then think about it."

I sigh and lay my head back down over Lakota's back and gaze up at Image, waiting for her to say something.
