Abraham

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

{[ Where? Alpha's den With? Sewati, Apache, Elwing, Temple, Jaden, Azayla, Rohan, Fee Crushing? Fee ]}

Abraham looked back, as Sewati came up next to her, before returning her head t face the pack. Listening carefully to Sewati's question, she flicked her ears back slightly as his somewhat negative attitude. Thinking a moment, she didn't get to speak before hearing the voice of one of her best hunters; Temple chime in. Nodding her head slowly as she spoke, she glanced toward to Sewati to see if he'd say anything before she'd speak.
Abraham had always been impressed by Temple...there was a good nature to her, like she was very independent and not afraid to speak up--even to wolves of higher rank than her. Yet, she still knew when it was time to be respectful, and what was enough. Somewhat like herself, Abraham liked to think. The wolf shook the thoughts out of her head, and let out a quiet sigh as she pondered about the two wolves' points. They were each logical, and Abraham didn't really know what to say for a while, before finally she replied, "We'll take our hunters as far South as possible..there might still be prey fleeing from this horrid cold if we are lucky." Abraham paused, thinking of what they would do if they weren't lucky, before continuing on. "If we don't manage finding food there, then there are always hares around here.". Sniffing the air, the wolf re-visited her thoughts about what Kappas were bred for; hunting and scent. "I'll admit, you do have a point, Sewati but you of all wolves should know where good hunters are, there is prey." Abraham nodded her head to Temple, as she quoted what the wolf had said, before turning back to Sewati. Abraham lowered her head slightly, to show she meant no disrespect to her fellow Kappa, she just wanted to get a point across.
Yawning slightly, Abraham scratched the back of her neck, attempting to look as if she wasn't nervous--but, alas, her nerves grew every day. Sewati did have a point...It was growing hard for even herself, and Sewati to sniff out prey during these times. Letting out a short sigh, she decided she'd talk to Apache about the issue. Before Abraham was about to go up and talk to Apache, she was addressed by Elwing. Turning, Abraham looked at Elwing before replying, "Well the pack is getting suspicious about what had happened to Elias--Apache is going to take Jaden and a couple hunters out with him to look for him, and he has also ordered Sewati and I to take the hunters out to look for prey," she explained. Nodding her head toward Elwing, she then trotted slowly up to Apache, bowing her head low and rising up, waiting for a quiet moment before addressing Apache, "Alpha, could I get a word in with you before you leave to search for Elias..please?" she question, quietly. Abraham had always called her alphas 'Alpha' when speaking to them, as in her old pack she would've been thrown into a fire if she didn't. It was a habit of hers, she supposed. Lowering her haunches, she sat down next to Apache, and nodded to Jaden, who was sitting across from her. Beside the alpha's side wasn't a usual place for a wolf of her rank to be, though she figured the issue couldn't wait much longer, before the wolves of the pack went hungry.

Kenji's eyes flickered open, as he inhaled the chill winter air for the first time of the day. Letting out a yawn, the wolf pulled himself up, and glanced around his surrondings. Letting out a sigh, he stretched out before shaking his coat from the dirt and snow that had gathered on it during the night. With another small yawn, the wolf trotted out of the den and looked around for company, though, the only place he saw wolves was around the alphas den--and there were allot of them. Sighing, he rolled his eyes "I should start waking up earlier, shouldn't I?" the wolf scolded himself, before picking up a sprint toward the big cave the alpha slept in. Slowing to a trot, as he neared the den, he gave a nod to the three wolves who were standing in the mouth of it, Sewati, the Kappa, Elwing, a hunter and Temple, another hunter. Looking up, he saw the other Kappa, Abraham had taken a spot next to the alpha, and trotted over and behind the alpha, placing himself next to Jaden. Listening to the conversation carefully, he shoved his ears forward once hearing his name called.
Nodding his head obediently, Kenji replied to Apache, glancing up straight into his gaze for a second, before turning his down as a sign of respect "I'll keep the wolves that will be, safe. You can count on me.". He nodded, sternly before returning to his thoughts, and quiet nature. So, he'd be in charge for a few hours--sweet. Other than that, he didn't quite know what was going on, so leaned over to Jaden and whispered, "What are we doing? I mean..you, doing? I heard Abraham talking about going to search from prey when she was talking to Elwing but that's just about it." the wolf commented, glancing up slightly to the she-wolf, as he was not in full height.

(sorry this isn't that long or pretty, I'm on my kindle)

Ghost listened to the older wolves conversation about the plague. Her ear flickered as she tried listening to what they were whispering. She frowned after awhile to decipher what they were whispering. She groaned in frustration before standing up. The fae turned and stomped over to her brother who was diving face first into the snow. She sighed as she watched him, " What are you doing?" She demanded. The young brute looked at his sister, "Being a pup." The white fae, "How can you be playing? Elias is gone!" She said plopping down in the snow. Shadow looked up, he was covered in snow from head to toe, "Elias is gone?" He said surprised. "Yes! We've got to find him!" Ghost said worry shown in the pup's icy blue eyes.

Shadow bounds around outside the den. Every chances he'd get, he'd dive into the snow happily crushing the snow in his small mouth. He glanced at his sister who was obviously deep in thought, he knew better than to disturb her when she was thinking. After a few more moments of watching her, he went back to playing in the snow. The brute looked at his sister as she stomped over to him a few seconds after he had taken another dive.He rolled his eyes when she asked him, "What are you doing?" He rolled his eyes as if it was obvious, "Being a pup." He responded rolling around in the snow. "Elias is gone?" He asked surprised, he was taken aback when she responded. "We can't leave camp. We'd get in trouble.Then I won't be able to become a fighter and you won't be able to become a therapist." He said trying to reason with his sister.

-----i blinked open my eyes apprehensivly, knowing they'd be greeted by a mass brand of light that no other light could measure up to. i hated dawn, simply because of this reason. it had no regards for your lack of sleep nor for the dreams you were currently having. i preferred the night, where everyone went off amongst themselves. in the dark, you cannot see anyone's facial expressions, see none of them at all. you dont have to see their eyes and all they hold in them. you know you dont want to look through those open doors, see all the troubles they've gone through. you dont want to look at their pelt, seeing all the burdens that latched themselves apon the small strands of fur. you dont want to see the pained face, the mouth pressed into what appears to be a permanent frown, or a sly grin that highlights treatury and wrong ways. you dont want to see any of that, do you? thats why in the dead of the night when you hear something out of place, you duck your head under the blanket, or shut your eyes because you dont want to see any evil. you close the books filled with the monsters, devils, and demons and put it back on the shelf so you dont have to face them. that is why i love the night. the sun just lets all of it in.

-----with a swift yawn, i stretched out my frontal paws before me, aiming for at least a nail to scratch a small stone about a foot infront of me. my short legs didnt reach far enough, and ignoring my humiliation, inspite being the only one in the den, climbed to my paws and gave my creamish white fur a quick shake. a faint cloud of dust escaped from my pelt and i happily lapped my tongue down my sides to smooth the fur back over my skin. i shielded my eyes by closing them as i left the den. it took a while for my eyes to adjust to the sun's lighting, but sure enough they did. i cast my eyes over the forest clearing where all the pack wolves made their home. all were amongst one another, chattering in ways that almost seemed as easy as breathing. i didnt prefer the company of others, especially during the hunt. i always found myself not fixiated on the prey of choice, but yet where my pack was so i wasnt to get in their way. it was a strange thing yes, but it was as normal to me as a wolf howling.

-----i cut through the tree line just behind my den so the other wolves didnt see me. they could go hunting as a group; i didnt mind being the odd one out. i preferred hares to elk anyways. my movements were swift, slow and cautious. they way i progressed myself portrayed exactly who i was inside. i was thankful fort his. that way there was no confusion. i swept and swerved through the trees and bushes, the only time my paws ever leaving the damp forest floor was when i was to leap over uprooted tree roots. i didnt let my eyes or nose guide me; no, i left that up to my ears. they lead me quicker to the small stream that ran through territory quicker than any other sense would have, even combined. in fact, if i had to choose one sense to have and one sense only, i would choose hearing. to not hear the owl's hoot overhead, the crickets sing at dusk, the tricking of the stream, the rustling of the leaves, your own pawsteps on the ground... music? all gone? i dont think so. the world was an ugly place, but they say the ugliest have the prettiest voices.

-----i wandered through the brush, feeling damp soil turn to small sandy pebbles in an instant. their coloration matched my pelt shade, except with a hint of brown, and i swere, if i had to lay down right this moment to hide from oncoming danger im sure no wolf of predator would catch a single sight of me. and i was willing to bet my hearing on it. i sat my rump down a couple til lengths from the cool water after letting it trickle down m throat after a few laps. it woke me up, the light splashes dappling the tips of my fur. i had to dmit, though i loved the night, the sun's rays did feel good warming my body. and for dawn, the sun felt as bright and warm as ever. so inviting and so decieving. i mustn't believe the lies.

Krul had awoken early in the morning, just early enough to catch the Gamma brute's departure. His eyes flicked open in the far back of the den, sleeping up against the far wall being his own attempt to keep the accursed winter as far away as possible. He felt restless, his sleep the last night constantly disturbed. The pup's departure had been a shock, Krul had briefly considered bounding after the tracks the pup left in the night the second they were discovered, but chasing a maddened wolf, even a pup, in the dead of night was a fool's errand. Now the refreshed presence of madness had set the Zeta in a state of high tension.
Krul paced about the den, circling about while smelling the walls and floor. He ensured that everything, every minute detail, was the same as when he had fallen into a less than proper sleep. And disregarding the snow which had moved further into the den, everything was. Still, Krul decided to check again. He circled about the den as though he was on a hunt, his prey being any missed detail. When he had finished checking three times, Krul let his senses rest.
As he did most mornings, Krul left his den and began to survey the area around the pack's home. He always moved slowly, not for lack of speed, but so that he might stalk every potential threat. The Zeta cursed the snow as he looked towards the tracks he was making, though took some small comfort in their slow disappearance as more of it fell. As he was returning, his ears pricked to the sounds of a gathering. Apache sat, speaking with the others of the pack. Almost every member was in attendance, and a palpable sense of disturbance hung in the air. Krul's ears swiveled towards the pack while he glanced back towards the forest. There was to be a hunt, it seemed, and some chatter about it came up. The Alpha then asked the Beta fae to accompany him, in search of the maddened pup. And it seemed Krul would be going along as well, and an Eta. Krul turned to head towards the gathering, hearing the Gamma brute wonder about a cure to the madness, which elicited a snort from the Zeta but no further response.
Krul broke away from the underbrush he was sitting in, nodding towards the Alpha as he drew nearer. The Zeta said nothing and joined the group, his light yellow eyes flicking about, watching the movements of the pack.

{ J a d e n }
{ female } - { four and a half years } - { beta }

--------Jaden gave a short nod to Abraham, who had sat down next to her, and glanced around. It seemed all of the pack was basically in attendance now, besides some of the lower level members, and the pups playing out by their den of course. She watched the young ones run about for a moment before she became aware of her male counterpart sitting next to her. Jaden looked next to her at the black brute, straining to listen to his whispered question. She thought for a moment, before responding, "Apache wants Abraham and Sewati to take the Lambdas out on a hunt. I believe that... Phelan, is supposed to tag along in case anything goes wrong." Jaden nodded towards the silly Omega, "As for me? Well, I'll be accompanying Apache, Krul and Silus on an attempted search for Elias while you stay here and watch the camp. I think that's about everything."

Ghost

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Ghost glanced toward the group of wolves around the alpha's den. The young fae stood up, glanced at her brother before speaking, "Follow me." She said before padding across the snow covered clearing towards the alpha's den and the other wolves. She hid behind what ever objects she saw, not trying to be noticed, she crouched low to the ground as she moved towards the den. She finally got close enough to hear what the were saying. The young pup hid behind a rock as she listened to them. She looked to her brother as he joined her, she padded out from the rock and padded between two wolves. She looked to her head before dipping her head respectfully. "We wanna go on the search for Elias," she said lifting her head to look at the alpha, Apache.

Shadow

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The brute looked at his sister as she padded towards the alpha's den. He hesitated before following her, he trotted across the white clearing to where Ghost was crouched behind a rock. The pup crouched beside his sister as she listened to the elder wolves talk. "Stop, Ghost!" He growled under his breath as his sister padded in between two of the wolves. He hesitated before following behind his sister, he looked at the older wolves to see their expression to what Ghost just said. His eyes made it to Apache's face and they rested on the alpha, he wanted to know the alpha's expression more than the other's. He dipped his head respectfully to his alpha, he kept it low for a few moments before lifting his head.

    [ OOC: Notorious., yes, you can still join.
    I'll try and address all the posts made, if I miss anything in my post please tell me xD ]

    Image

    I lightly brush my tail across the dirt floor of my den as I watch the majority of the pack join in. My ears swivel to try and hear as many of the questions being asked — Of course there will be questions. With something as mysterious as Elias's disappearance ... well, I have questions myself.

    Among the murmurs, one voice stands out from the rest: Azayla's, our theta. "Actually, perhaps there is something you can help with." I pause to finish my thought before speaking, when Rohan suggests what was on my mind. "Indeed. Rohan and Azayla, I'd like you two to head out into the plains where we've been sighting those plagued hares. Maybe you can find some sort of evidence, like a poisoned water hole or food source, that could lead us to the cause of the Madness ..." I sigh and shake my head subtly. Though the pack is desperate to stop the plague, the realistic part of my brain — the dominant side — tells me that no cure can be found. "I am honestly not sure if a cure exists. However, for the sake of the pack, we must try." I give a brisk nod to close the command and turn my attention to the other wolves.

    One she-wolf emerges forward from the crowd, one of the kappas, Abraham. She asks for a moment to speak, and my observant nature tells me that despite her polite words, there is a slight barrier between she and I. I flick my ears and nod.
    "Of course," I murmur. "I'm always open to speak with my packmates." I stand up, raising my reddish tail to call the attention of the pack. Once the whispers die down, I dismiss them from my den so that I may talk to Abraham alone. However, before I can finish, a small voice interrupts.

    I glance down to see the two remaining pups, Ghost and Shadow. The pups were siblings, and were famous throughout the wolves for getting into trouble wherever they could find it. My ears flatten with disbelief as the female, Ghost, calmly asks for permission to look for their lost peer.
    "You two are not yet even one season old. You will be killed in the blizzard out there!" Noticing my somewhat harsh tone, I lean down to meet the pups' height and speak in a gentler voice. "No. You may not leave the camp until you are older. I understand that you fear for Elias, but we will search for him until we have discovered his fate. Now, go on and play in the camp, but don't stay out too long or you'll catch a cold!" I shake my head at the small pups and rise once again to my paws, waiting for the pack to leave me to speak to Abraham alone.

    Image

    I nod respectfully as Abraham answers, briefly explaining the tense feeling in the pack. "Oh. I thought it seemed a bit quiet around camp. I hope Elias is safe ..." I draw my light gray tail around my paws nervously, but strictly remind myself to focus on my duties. "So, where are we going to hunt? The prey has been in hiding all week. The pups must be getting hungry." As if on queue, the two pups, Ghost and Shadow, slip into the den. A slight smile spreads across my muzzle, as I remember the days when I was young and unafraid, with not a worry in the world ... Oh, Elle, stop it ... that isn't you anymore. You need to focus on today.

    I draw my paw over my forehead to wipe the past from my mind and see Apache rise to his paws. His tail is silently lifted and a hush falls over the pack, in respect for our alpha. I listen carefully as he orders the pack to leave him to speak with Abraham, and I just realize that the kappa is not sitting by me anymore. I curse myself for not noticing the important things, then quickly get to my paws to leave the den, feeling the cold air as I cross into the winter outside.

    I drop my haunches to the snow-covered ground, shivering as the light snowflakes fall onto my head and back, blending in perfectly with my white fur. I curiously glance back into Apache's den, and catch the beta male Kenji's gaze for a split moment. My ears lower and I look away in embarrassment from the handsome brute.
    He's a beta. You are just a lambda. He would never look at you ... I let out a sigh, watching my breath as it turns visible by the cold. The burning fire in my heart is frozen over, not by the harsh winter but rather from the cold thoughts toward myself.

Ghost

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Ghost watched as the rest of the pack left. Her ears went back as the alpha spoke, in a harsh tone, after a moment the alpha spoke again in a less harsher tone. Her icy eyes looked at Apache, "But we wanna help look. Elias was like the brother I never had." She said. She heard her brother say, "Hey!" The young fae would not give up until she and her brother were able to search for there friend. After a moment of thinking she added, "We may be young but we're stronger than you think." It was true if they were talking about Shadow. It was false if they were talking about her. The far was the weakest in the litter. She was the runt of the litter.

Ghost Sat back on her haunches waiting for the alpha to say something. She knew she wouldn't be given permission to go. But in the end she would find a way to sneak out of camp.The fae was persistent which was good sometimes bad other times. Ghost listened as the alpha dismissed them. She sighed in defeat, "Is there anything we can do to help Elias?" She asked, she knew that there was some hope for Elias.

"Hope isn't lost. Unless you refuse to hope." She murmured softly. It was barely audible. She'd be surprised if they heard her.

[center]Shadow

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The young brute watched as the Apache's ears went back. He frowned as the alpha spoke in a harsh tone. To put it simply the alpha said no. "Sir---" he began but was cut off as the alpha spoke again. "Sir---" he began again but was cut off by Ghost. He growled, agitated, he sat back on his haunches. "Hey!" He barked as Ghost said something about Elias was like the brother she never has. He went silent and waited till everyone had finished speaking. "Sir, can't we go on a search party with you and the others?" He asked. He knew he'd be rejected but it was worth a shot. After all he needed to backup his sister.

Silus
[ male ] [ eta ] [ three years ]

He had slept in a few minutes, awaking in the middle of all the talk. He groaned softly as he stumbled to pull himself up, tripping over his own paws. He was always a clumsy oath at first rising. But then again he was often clumsy unless working. As he stood he kicked back bits of snow, trying to get his footing. He stumbled over a front paw and fell, his muzzle going back into the snow. When he finally stood he shook violently, sending a small flight of snow into different directions. Looking around he found quite a few of the packs members standing and watching Apache as he gave out orders. He rushed over, bounding to get over the snow and get to the other wolves. He put himself at the side of the others, sitting on his haunches.
The cold snow met his once slightly warm fur, making him raise before going back down once again. He looked at Apache as the alpha spoke about Elias, the pup who had apparently disappeared. Silus' ears faltered, falling slowly to his head in a silent mourn. But they shot back up as soon the prospect of leaving the camp in a search party came out. He was off of his rump immediately, now standing and ready to go. While his tail did keep up a slow wag, he was otherwise serious. As much as he liked to play he knew this could be a serious matter and it would be better to be prepared. He listened to the talk going on, keeping quiet for the first time in his life. As the two pups announced their request he held back a small smile. But soon enough all the wolves were being dismissed from the Apache's den. He stood with the others, trotting away to wait when they would head out to search.

Temple
[ female ] [ lamba ] [ four and a half years ]

She sat quietly through the rest of it, listening with a certain attentiveness native to her. She was always one who paid close attention to what was around her. It was rare for the lamba to miss a detail, and even when she did she would catch on within a few moments. Of course this meant she didn't always simply let herself enjoy things. It never bothered her too much, normally she was too busy for it to bother her. She liked being kept busy. She looked to the side as Elwing asked where they would go to hunt. "Our best shot would be the rivers further South." She commented, looking to Sewati for confirmation, seeing as how Abraham had left to speak with the alpha already. As the two pups slipped into the conversation she didn't pay them much attention, though their request surprised her slightly. She didn't expect for the two to be so bold about it. But they wouldn't be getting the shot to do so and Temple knew it. They were too young and it would be better if they stayed here. If they went out then that would be more to worry about. Anyone in the pack could tell you that and through the entire search they would have one eye looking for Elias, and the other eye and both ears on the other pups. She wasn't surprised when their request was rejected by the alpha. But they were even more persistent, even after the alpha dismissed them all. She looked at the two before departing. "The best you pups could do is stay here and hope he comes back." She told them, saying it in a kinder voice rather then a commanding one as an alpha would use. She trotted away, following Elwing. Considering they would be going on a hunt soon, either when Sewati called them to go or Abraham returned and called them to go, they would be going soon. She sat down a few feet off to the side, dropping her haunches before popping back up then trying again. This time her haunches met the ground, and while she sat still she was impatient to get going. It was morning and their prey would be rising soon to get a move on and move further South. And if they didn't take advantage of the slower pace in the morning the prey would be harder to catch. Temple voiced none of this, but rather kept quiet, waiting calmly.
