Ah, whatever. Viper stuffed as many of the mice as she could into her mouth without actually swallowing and resolved to kick the rest all the way to her den. She was standing on a track, a path clear of golden grass, at least until it ended at the edge of a scrubby cliff. Her den was hidden by the track, the entrance curtained by tall grass. As she stood a small sound behind her made her stiffen. She whipped around, her hackles raised. No one ever got this close to the the scrub cliffs, they were unclimbable and she wasn't living up here simply for the view of bear pond half a mile below. It was a small wolf, or a coyote. Yeah a coyote. Viper pondered whether she should hold her ground or flee deeper into neddlemouse haven. Her tawny markings, lighter than usual for a bobcat, made her practically invisible in the rippling fields.

Jethro
Lᴇᴛ's Gᴇᴛ ᴛᴏ Kɴᴏᴡ Eᴀᴄʜ Oᴛʜᴇʀ

name Jethro
nickname Jeth
age Five Years Old
species Elk
gender Bull
crush None

Lᴏᴏᴋɪɴɢ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ Rɪᴠᴇʀ

description Jeth, being a fully grown bull elk, stands more than five feet tall at the shoulder. He has a twelve point rack, each end sharpened to an exact finish. He's covered in a rug of coarse brown fur, built for keeping out the cold and insulating the heat that his body gives off. From tip to tail he's about eight feet in length, having a frame of pure muscular bulk. Jeth's ears are long and stand at an erect angle most of the time, paying close attention to all surroundings. He has long powerful legs that are built for long distance running, escaping predators and fighting off other bulls.
eye color Brown
weight 698 Pounds

Aʙᴏᴜᴛ Yᴏᴜʀsᴇʟғ

personality Jeth is the silent, powerful type. He need not utter a single word or make a single movement to show that he is quite capable of harming another creature larger than himself. But, despite his obvious threatening qualities, Jethro does not like to fight. Sure, he'll spar with another bull every now and then just to show who's the top dog in these parts, but he's rather peaceful and prefers to just gnaw on some bark.
Jethro is also quite wise for his age, he's survived many winter seasons and has successfully had his genes passed down threw to younger generations which have like- survived over time and the presence of predators. Jeth is a proud animal and always holds his head high. It is rare to ever see him actually show fear when held in the close proximity of dangerous carnivores. He will keep a steady locked gaze and will first use the act of intimidation to try and frighten off the smaller animals, if that doesn't work he'll charge with his deadly antlers aimed at the threat, and if that still doesn't work- he'll go ahead and just take off into the dense forest.

history When Jethro was born he lived solely with his mother until he was old enough to fend for himself and be apart of the herd. While he stayed with them for a fair amount of time, he eventually felt the mass of bodies to be too suffocating and sought to break away from it and live alone. As time advanced he proved to be an able solo-survivor but desired to find mates and have young fauns of his own to further pass down his lineage. He was also successful in this as well, having sired many healthy young cows and bulls that have withstood the onslaught of predators and harsh weather seasons.
family Jeth's mother was a strong willed cow who raised him to be just as introverted as she was. He never knew his father, just as his children would never know him unless they somehow crossed paths in the woods. It was simply how things happened.
other Slight limp in his back right leg do to a recent run-in with a young feisty bull who wanted to fight.

As a soft breeze rustled through the forest, Jethro, one of its inhabitants, lifted up his head and carefully sniffed at the air. His honed senses seeking any sign of danger that could be lurking nearby. Eventually the brute snorted, shaking his heavy dome and gingerly picking his way over the underbrush. Jeth's back end was still quite sore from the skirmish he had gotten into two days ago with that hotshot of a wannabe stud, so he was being more careful than usual.

Jethro's ears flickered slightly as he heard the chattering of voices. He perked and stamped his hoof against the ground, dragging it along the earth and dead foliage. He was curious as to who was in the area, wondering if he might have new neighbors. If so, he needed to know if they could be possible threats that he needed to chase out again. Just last month he was forced to scare off a wolf that was traveling through the area. Jeth wasn't especially fond of the species- elks and wolves never got along well.
