Grayfell | | Gaddar | | Fighter | | In Camp ||Medieval, Fey, Flynn, Bronnwen, Keiler, Vihan

Grayfell didn't flinch when Medieval reached for him. Instead, his lips pulled back into a snarl and his tail rose to stick straight up. Grayfell knew that Medieval knew he wasn't afraid to fight him. I'll rip you to shreds, He thought, but he calmed himself, Not now...not yet. He gathered himself and walked over to Salvatore's den, the only hunter who wasn't awake. At least he hoped it was Salvatore's. All these wolves had the same nasty stench to him. They smelled of blood and anger, unlike the Saf pack who smelled of earth and pine. Well...maybe Saf didn't smell that way. All he could remember was Hana's scent of sweet pine. He would never forget it.

"Wake up," He growled grumpily into the den, "Medieval wants you." Afterward, he wondered whether to return to the crowd of wolves or not. He noticed a she-wolf cowering in the bushes not too far away. Grayfell didn't know her name, but she seemed nicer than the rest of the wolves here. As Flynn approached her and they left to scout prey, Grayfell wished to join them. He was unsure of how Medieval would react, however. Grayfell stretched out on the cool ground, I guess I'll just wait here until Medieval actually decides to do something.
There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.

I am her eyes. She is my wings. I am her voice. She is my spirit. I am her human. She is my horse.

Name: Arya
Gender: Female
Pack: Saf
Rank: Hunter

Arya was a fidgety sleeper. More often than not she would twitch and turn, occasionally letting small high pitched whimpers escape her jaws. Unaware of her physical actions, the young female knew exactly what she was doing as she dreamed. Her brother was there. And she was a young pup again - no more than one year of age. Arya enjoyed these dreams. Well, she enjoyed the start of these dreams. She would romp and play with her big brother, taking turns to chase each other. The only time she got to really be with her brother was in her dreams. It was these few moments that she could forget that he was gone. It was these few moments that she treasured most. At least, that was until the dream turned bad. Once every few days, she would re-live the final moments she ever got to see of her brother. And every time, she failed to save him. She just lay there, motionless, watching as a group of Gaddar wolves murdered the wolf most precious to her.

The familiar yet intimidating howl of the pack's alpha was enough to startle the female. She lifted her head in one swift motion, her bright eyes wide. Her breathing was rapid and she felt hot under her thick mottled fur. Arya took a few minutes to adjust to her surroundings and she felt a wave of relief was over her as she realised she was with the Saf wolves. Taking a deep breath, she released a long, exhausted yawn before forcing herself to her paws. She shook her fur quickly to help wake herself up. Licking her dry lips a few times, the young hunter wandered out of the den and surveyed the area. Caleb, the pack alpha was the first awake, as usual. The rest of the pack members were stirring. She saw some fellow hunters and a few of the pack's fighters but she was feeling a little too shy to go over to one of them and make conversation, despite her longing to do so. Right now she just wanted company to help her take her mind off her dream and her brother. A hunt would also help with this. Instead she just stretched forward and let out a second yawn, this one sounding more like a high pitched yowl more than a gasp of breath. She sat back and wrapped her tail around her paws, waiting for orders.

[Sorry it took me so long to reply. ^^;]

dear perdita,

don't believe in the lies.

-----i blinked open my eyes apprehensivly, knowing they'd be greeted by a mass brand of light that no other light could measure up to. i hated dawn, simply because of this reason. it had no regards for your lack of sleep nor for the dreams you were currently having. i preferred the night, where everyone went off amongst themselves. in the dark, you cannot see anyone's facial expressions, see none of them at all. you dont have to see their eyes and all they hold in them. you know you dont want to look through those open doors, see all the troubles they've gone through. you dont want to look at their pelt, seeing all the burdens that latched themselves apon the small strands of fur. you dont want to see the pained face, the mouth pressed into what appears to be a permanent frown, or a sly grin that highlights treatury and wrong ways. you dont want to see any of that, do you? thats why in the dead of the night when you hear something out of place, you duck your head under the blanket, or shut your eyes because you dont want to see any evil. you close the books filled with the monsters, devils, and demons and put it back on the shelf so you dont have to face them. that is why i love the night. the sun just lets all of it in.

-----with a swift yawn, i stretched out my frontal paws before me, aiming for at least a nail to scratch a small stone about a foot infront of me. my short legs didnt reach far enough, and ignoring my humiliation, inspite being the only one in the den, climbed to my paws and gave my blueish grey and brown fur a quick shake. a faint cloud of dust escaped from my pelt and i happily lapped my tongue down my sides to smooth the fur back over my skin. i shielded my eyes by closing them as i left the den. it took a while for my eyes to adjust to the sun's lighting, but sure enough they did. i cast my eyes over the forest clearing where all the saf wolves made their home. all were amongst one another, chattering in ways that almost seemed as easy as breathing. i didnt prefer the company of others, especially during the hunt. i always found myself not fixiated on the prey of choice, but yet where my pack was so i wasnt to get in their way. it was a strange thing yes, but it was as normal to me as a wolf howling.

-----i cut through the tree line just behind my den so the other saf members didnt see me. they could go hunting as a group; i didnt mind being the odd one out. i preferred hares to elk anyways. my movements were swift, slow and cautious. they way i progressed myself portrayed exactly who i was inside. i was thankful fort his. that way there was no confusion. i swept and swerved through the trees and bushes, the only time my paws ever leaving the damp forest floor was when i was to leap over uprooted tree roots. i didnt let my eyes or nose guide me; no, i left that up to my ears. they lead me quicker to the small stream that ran through saf territory quicker than any other sense would have, even combined. in fact, if i had to choose one sense to have and one sense only, i would choose hearing. to not hear the owl's hoot overhead, the crickets sing at dusk, the tricking of the stream, the rustling of the leaves, your own pawsteps on the ground... music? all gone? i dont think so. the world was an ugly place, but they say the ugliest have the prettiest voices.

-----i wandered through the brush, feeling damp soil turn to small sandy pebbles in an instant. their coloration matched my pelt shade, and i swere, if i had to lay down right this moment to hide from oncoming danger im sure no wolf of predator would catch a single sight of me. and i was willing to bet my hearing on it. i sat my rump down a couple til lengths from the cool water after letting it trickle down m throat after a few laps. it woke me up, the light splashes dappling the tips of my fur. i had to dmit, though i loved the night, the sun's rays did feel good warming my body. and for dawn, the sun felt as bright and warm as ever. so inviting and so decieving. i mustn't believe the lies.

Hana ✿ Saf ✿ Huntress ✿ In camp ✿ Caleb, Snowface, Dakota, Clayton, Keegan, Lamia, Arya

Hana looked over as Arya emerged from her den. Now all the hunters were here! Except for Perdita. Hana wasn't sure where she had gone off to. Hana gazed at the she-wolf fondly. Though Hana loved all of her pack, she was closest to the other hunters. She knew that most of them were better than her at their job, but they had never judged her. Not to mention that Arya was yet another wolf Hana had grown up with. Hana knew that Arya had also lost her brother to the Gaddar pack, but in a different manner. She watched as the she-wolf yawned, too shy to join the others. Hana wished to call out to her, to say, "Come sit by me," but she didn't. She knew it'd be time to leave anyway. There'd be plenty of time for bonding then. There was no need for talking during a hunt. The hunters understood each other's every move. As they chased their prey, they ran together, their hearts beat together.

Hana glanced over as Clayton approached beside her and gave a gentle touch to his rank mate, Lamia. Lamia. Hana had to admit that she didn't know the fighter very well. All Hana knew was that she was half blind and hadn't been the same since a disease struck her when she was younger. But Hana wasn't one to judge. She looked to Caleb, waiting patiently for him to say something. As she did, she heard Clay speak to what she had said. Her ears slicked back against her head. "I...I didn't say you had to, Clay," She said quietly, then paused for a moment, "Not saying that I don't want you to come, either!" Hana flopped down into a sitting position, ears still flicked back, her head turned away. Oh no, I've made a fool of myself again...They probably think I was being rude... Hana fidgeted awkwardly, unsure of whether to apologize to the brute or not. She wished for Caleb to give out a command, to break her uncomfortable silence. She felt ashamed. Though to most it wouldn't have seemed very snappy or insulting, it felt so to Hana. She looked down at her formerly white, now dirt speckled toes.

He wasn't alone for long before a brown pelted fae joined him. It was Dakota, the fiery eyed huntress. His lips curled in a smile as he nodded his head in a greeting. Their lives intertwined in strange ways with the death of their fathers. Both of them died in the same battle, killed by the Gaddar. They grew up together providing the sibling support both of them needed but were short on. Their friendship deepened over the years. He trusted and believed in her, even now when both of them are grown.

"Good morning, Dakota" He said calmly, a chuckle hiding in his voice. He then stood as he never said anything. He remained as if she wasn't there and uttered no word beside his greeting. It was when Snowface came that he finally showed any other signs of life. He nodded his head politely, ignoring past his sarcastic remark and greeting him with the same calm voice. "It's a good one indeed" He said shifting his wary gaze towards the white pelted brute. He knew that Snowface could be quite arrogant and rude at times, but his place in the pack was well earned. He was surely one of the most appreciated members of the pack. He spoke what was on his mind and everyone respected him for that, and surely Caleb as well.

He rose to his paws and let his tail linger in the air before letting it down. "Dakota," he said to the fae turning towards her. "lead the hunters to the deer." He requested a smile tugging on the tips of his lips. Lately the prey has been scarce, and the herds will only move farther away from the territory, searching food and shelter for the winter. It would be nice if they could have a decent meal. "Clayton," he continued cutting in their conversation with Dakota, disabling him from replying to her. "I want you to take the fighters and check the borders." He was afraid that maybe the Gaddar had that arrogance to cut trough their borders, maybe even invade inside. So that was about it. "Snowface, come with me." He said before walking past the wolves that were by his side at the moment and stopping at a few fox leaps away, turning back to make sure the beta followed. He was loyal to his pack, but he was known to not listen to Caleb much.

She walked silently with Langely, her pelt near his. Soon though, the two reached the end of the path that Aimée had memorized, and the trail broke off into several smaller trails. The other trails were barely visible, as the grass still waved its hellos and goodbyes as the healer took to her left before hearing her company's question. "Holly, poppy, ginger, aloe, and mint. However, if you see a small green plant with orange thorns," she said sweetly, her voice smooth like a newborn pup's coat, "I would love some of that. It has no scent, it's hard for me to find."

Raising her head to the sky she breathed in, her obsidian nose collecting more scents than most wolves. She could smell the bitter lure of poppy. She took a few steps and found it, waving her tail to her poetic companion. Pressing her nose to a seed pod, it exploded. Carefully, Aimée gathered the eight seeds from the pod, storing them in her mouth. "Please don't swallow them," she said louder than her normal voice with a tang of worry caking it. "But they are safe in your mouth." Giving her warning, Aimée popped another seed pod, and as careful as a first time mother grooming her pups, collected the bounty.

snowface - beta brute - saf - with a big part of the saf pack
Though the elder brute was highly annoyed by the sudden interruption of his sleep, he didn't go far. He waited a few steps away from all the others, far away enough not to be in the center of the group, or even part of it, but close enough to hear the stupid fuss those wolves made about small matters. And, of course, to hear the plan for today from the almighty Alpha, Caleb, in Snowface' eyes only another puppy screaming he couldn't swim.
The brute sat down, his head directioned at the group of younglings, looking as if he were listening to whatever unintelligent and unimportant they had to quack to each other, but listening to the forest around him. Hear it come to life. The wind blowing through the leaves on top, the birds and their younglins twitter and chatter in their nests high above the ground, the soft rustling of brown, dead leaves under the paws of his fellow packmates.
That was, actually, the only thing that Snowface did like about the forest. He wasn't very fond of places with a lot of shadows; he'd rather see the sun, but, as he wasn't the Alpha and he couldn't take the pack somewhere else, he apparently just had to learn to live with it. And so it be.

At that very moment a ray of sunlight lighted up the woods, placing exactly upon Snowface. The brute enjoyed the warmth, the well-known feelings it brought him, and when it faded away again, he felt a lot better than when he had left his den.
The amber eye placed itself on all wolves that were present; Arya, Caleb, Aimée, Hana, Clayton, Lamia, Langley and Keegan, and he observed their faces, even though he wasn't interested in those ducks as they were interested in each other.
All of them were familiar to them, for most of them he had already been in the pack when they got in, or sometimes even before they were born in the pack. As soon as the pack had became a twirling, flutching amount of younglings Snowface had had the intentions he was going to leave - all these puppies and younglings were useless to him - but the pack members had eventually made him stay. And now, he wasn't too sure about that anymore.

Caleb's greet came not unexpected, but the fact that the Alpha yet again interrupted his calm moment - this time his thoughts about the past - brought his eyebrows down again. He closed his eyes halfway, inspecting his leader carefully. He seemed not really caring about Snowface' remark, but, the wolf that he was, the beta didn't care. It was good for Caleb's heart to become harder, more unreachable. It'd help when those freakin' Gaddars would attack, and, actually, always. A hard-hearted beta and a half-hard-hearted alpha; a pair no one could reach out to, straight to business.

His thoughts were yet again interrupted when the alpha requested his presence, wherever he was going. Come with me? Was that how Snowface was now asked to give his well-worth-it advice? He growled softly, but as the Alpha himself was waiting for him, he could postpone that for a little longer, when they were alone.
He followed his alpha, feeling as if he were a dog at the side of a human - totally surrendered, no choice about his life anymore. "You better walk a little slower, youngling, for my legs aren't what they've been before." He growled, in his friendly tone, which still sounded as if he was challenging the alpha.
