Thunder closed his eyes, but he secretly listened to Amani and the brute. He wasn't tired, so he couldn't fall asleep... Who said he was going to tell anyone about the argument, anyway? I am the reason for it... he thought, so technically it's my comments, too.

Luke rolled his eyes, and stalked away into the wood, to stressed to deal with Amani at the moment.

River warily trotted along the plains. He was clearly visible among the tall prairie grass. The frost stuck in his black fur as he crouched below the grass's top.

Thunder heard the brute pad off, and so he thought. After I'm healed enough to be off again, what'll they do to me? Will they just let me go like that? Or keep me prisoner? Then his thoughts paused as a single one spoke out. Will I be able to join? This caused more thoughts. What ranks are open? Are ranks really part of a pack or are they a myth? I'm good at running, is there like a runner position? Maybe I'd be good at hunting... Or do they have fighters? Maybe I could be one of those. Or what are those lowest-ranks? Omeegos? No, that's not it, but something like that. Will I be one of those? The thoughts kept coming and coming and coming.

Amani face was cold. "Did he do anything? I trust him. Isn't that enough?"

Luke grumbled, "Whatever!" Then trotted to his secret spot, which was a mystical pond, inside a bunch if prickle bushes, which was fed from a spring filled waterfall. It was tiny, but it was his. He sat there.

Amani sighed. "What have I done..." She looked at the brute, wondering where he came from.

Thunder's thoughts were interrupted by Amani's comment. I trust him. Did he do anything? he recalled her saying. No, I didn't... his mind grumbled. Then it sighed. Nonetheless I did go in their territory.

Amani spoke softly to Thunder. "We're going to play a game. It's called 20 questions. I'll ask a question, then you'll answer, and ask a question of your own. Want to play?"

He opened his eyes and lifted his head to look at Amani. "Sure," he smiled. He hasn't played a game in 2 1/2 years!
