Shadow stood and began to pad slowly around. Her ears were perked as she walked. She sniffed the air and began padding towards the scent of fresh kill. She scanned the area and kept walking until she found what she was searching for. Keeping her distance, she watched. She saw two leopards eating. She laid there not moving closer though she was hungry.

Mirage's round ears perked as she caught the sound of something moving towards them. She peered over the partially eaten carcass, rough tongue swiping over her muzzle, and after a moment of looking she saw another leopard. Her ears pulled back against her skull and she drew herself up, a low growl rumbling in her throat as she stared at the leopard.

Cardinal stiffened as Mirage growled, looking in the direction her gaze was fixed. He saw the leopard and sat up, a curious look coming over him. He cleaned his muzzle of blood and quietly called a greeting, "Hello." He definitely wasn't as rude as his sister was and a lot more inviting.

Shadow watched as they realized she was there. Naturally she reacted back. She pressed her ears back as her teeth started to show. She tensed slightly as she watched the female. She was prepared for anything. She stopped when she heard the male greet her. Sitting up she answered him. "Hello," she said her gaze shifting to the female before looking back at him.

The female let out a nearly inaudible hiss to her brother, "What are you doing?" He ignored her. She lashed her tail and climbed over the now mostly eaten boar, paws crunching on the snow that covered the ground. She came to stand at her brother's side, distrustful gaze never leaving the stranger. She definitely wasn't trusting this female until she was positive she was not a threat.

Cardinal glanced quickly towards Mirage as she came to stand at his side. He hoped she didn't do anything uncalled for. He twitched an ear as the female replied and offered a friendly smile, "I'm Cardinal and this is my sister Mirage. Who might you be?" He studied the strange female with interest. It had been some time since they'd last run into another leopard and that time it had been a no good male.

Shadow tried to focus on the males kindness but the female had her on edge. Her tail lashed out behind her. She wasn't sure if the female mighty try to attack her or not. She continued to stay where she was as the male once more spoke to her. "Nice to meet you two though I'm sure your sister doesn't feel the same. My name is Shadow or you can call me Shade," she said.

"Don't mind her she's just a bit grumpy." Cardinal assured. It was really the only way to explain away Mirage's actions. Grumpiness usually came with new leopards. He shifted his position to be more comfortable, "It's a pleasure to meet you Shadow." He added in before becoming quiet. Cardinal wasn't quite sure what he should say now but after a few more moments of silent his sister fixed that for him, asking a question herself.

Mirage flattened her ears at being called grumpy, "Am not." She said under her breath, claws extending to slide into the snow and then back into the safety of their sheaths. She listened as Cardinal spoke more and as all fell silent she glanced at her surroundings briefly. "Why are you here?" She finally asked, the silence bugging her.

Shadow nodded "I understand I've had many a days myself," she said. She took a deep breathe trying not to let the females 'grumpiness' bother her though she stayed tense. She curled her tail around her as it grew silent. Se perked her we'd slightly as she heard the female. She shrugged looking between both them. "I was merely wandering looking for a place to stay," she said. For a family, a friend, a home she thought. "I'm hungry and tired so I stopped for a little," she added shorty after glancing over at the carcass.

Cardinal listened to Shadow's answer to Mirage's question. He saw her look to the carcass and after a moment's thought he spoke, "You could eat some of this." he gestured towards the carcass. There wasn't too much meat left on it but enough for a leopard to get a decent sized meal out of it. He cast a careful glance towards Mirage, warning her against saying or doing anything in protest.

Before she could stop it Cardinal had offered the female some of their food. Though she had pretty much eaten her fill she had been planning to save the rest for a later time when the siblings might need it. Apparently that wasn't happening now.

Luke wandered around aimlessly. He let out a proud 'roar' to let females know he was open to meet them. He sat by a tree and smiled gently, rubbing his fur and shaking quickly.

Shadow smiled lightly at his offer. This made her take a few careful steps forward. "Are you sure? You don't need it for anything?" she asked. She was grateful for whatever food she could get. It was more than what she had in a few days. She glanced over at the female watching her reaction. Just like when she first saw her, she didn't seem to happy about his suggestion. "It's fine if you had plans..." she said trailing off.
