He looked back as she stayed behind and stood there. His eyes strayed to her belly and the faded scent of the other stallion. He flicked an ear to the back, not really liking the beginning of this new adventure the mare had proposed as he just looked at her as if waiting for her to say something on the contrary like 'No, he didn't cover me. I'm just getting fat for eating to much.'

Phantom soon started to canter. She led herself away from the brook, soon she found herself in the wood's watching a herd. (Ashurial's) she tried to back up but soon realized she would surely step on something so she stayed still. Keeping herself quiet.
'I wonder if he's nice?' she thought.

Empire turned her belly from him as if to protect it. If he tried to hurt her the foal may be killed. She gave him a sorrowful and hurt look befor lowering her head to graze again. She shivered a bit as a chilly breeze reached its icy tendrils under her short black pelt. The female seemed unsure and fearful. Did he even want her here? Did he actually find love in that soul? Maybe she was just making it worse by coming. Her leg was lifted slightly as it still hurt from taking a hit.

Personalities: Spirit is sweet, kind and a gentleman. He's protective and determined all thanks to his Momma, she taught him mares and equals not pets or slaves, he truly cares for those who are in his herd. But threaten his herd he will get dangerous... He may choose a lead mare but he will treat all the mares the same.

History: Spirit's Momma was a run a way show horse who had fond his father.... At first his Momma thought his father was the perfect stallion but when he introduced her to his herd and told him she was pregnant with his child it all changed he became mean and violent, when she had Spirit she protected her son with everything she could, desperate to make him better than his father... She made him run away when he was 2 and he's been alone since and now being alone makes him feel trapped.

Animaux's head lifted, a pungent aroma wafted into his flaring nostrils, and a whinny soon rattled his vocal cords. A female was in heat, and that could be easily determined by the odors she was releasing. Animaux giddily followed, producing small whinnies and huffs as he did so. Eventually the figure of the mare came into view, causing him to buck with excitement.

{Also, if that was confusing, Animaux had traced Phantom to where she is now.}

(No. They have herds of two or more mares and the stallion breeds with all his mares if they allow him. He can have a favorite, or lead mare, that takes his role and leads the other mares when engaging with another stallion, or threat, in combat.)

He kept his eyes on the mare. She hadn't denied the truth. Well at least they were getting somewhere. He shook his large head and walked back down to her though keeping some space. He looked at her with a knowing that she had very few choices as he flicked an ear to the side, ignoring the mare off to the side. "You have three choices to dwell on before sunrise. I cover you, the one you most likely don't want and it dies, or have the foal believe he is of my blood." All would seem unfair to her but he had never given the third option and knew that at sunrise he would have regretted that last offer. "You have before sunrise, when my last offer vanishes." He tried not to sound so cruel but couldn't find another way to put it as he turned back to the falling water and his two other sleeping mares at a languid walk with no rush.

Empire lowered her head and walked off as he left. He acted no different. Maybe this was all one big fat mistake. "What did I do? This is so ridiculous. I cannot lie to my ow blood but..." She let out a silent sob. Empire lied away from them with her head facing the tall grasses. A tear drifted from her nose to a blade of grass and soaked into the dirt. Tucking in her legs more tightly she folded her head by her belly and spoke quietly to her unborn. "This is my fault. A life that is a lie is not a life at all. You are my last piece of sanity, my dear. I-" She choked on a rigid sob she kept quiet. "I cannot do this." Empire finished simply. Her mind seemed numb. So did her heart. She could not She would not. She clenched her eyes shut and begged this nightmare to end. Someone to show her she did something right and everyone was not turning their backs on her.

She pulled back as he nipped her mane and raced forward to return the playful gesture, speeding past him to and slowing down with a light buck and soft whinny. She looked back at him with a mischievous smile that dared him to a race.

Avalon tossed his mane and flicked his tail. He reared up and dashed after his mare. He had hoped the fighting had died down enough that they wouldn't get into any trouble on the way.

Faster and faster, the exhausted stallion pushed himself further away from everything he had come to love so dearly. He couldn't think, his mind was clouded with sorrow, his muscles ached but he refused to let himself stop. Soon he would just collapse, his legs would give out and he wouldn't give a care whether he got back up or not.

Her ears pricked as Empire entered behind Ashurial, and that the stallion was unscathed. She stumbled to her hooves "B-but how?" she asked him in a a whisper, careful not to wake the other mare. "The red horse, he just let you take her?" she sounded curious, not accusing.
