Empire chuckled through saddened eyes. "You must not understand me either. So I guess we are tied." She lifted her head back up, a shimmering droplet resting on her cheek. "But D*mm*t Ashurial, how do you know I cannot understand when you will not let me try? I tell you of my senseless care for you and you accuse me of being to vain to see there is something that possesses you? This soul desires to be loved and to love. But you will not let it. Please. Just give it a chance. Reach deep and try." Empire said as a second tear knocked down the first. She nosed his muzzle and placed her head upon his withers as if an embrace.

The red stallion watched from a distance, he knew Ashurial was on his land and he knew that Empire was very close to him. However, he would not try to fight him off, he had enough faith in Empire. If there was a chance that his fear of his one true love returning to him were to come true, he would not stop it. Even the stallion with the most strong willed heart cannot untie the bonds of fate.

The dark mare was all but invisible in the shadowy grasp of night. She entered the cave once more and went on to lay beside Eclipse, wondering if the mare had noticed her leave. Her mind was racing, preventing any chance of sleep for now, so she lay beside Eclipse looking at the walls of the small area.

The mare looked up as the other walked back in, glad to see no more wounds on her. She gave her a nuzzle and peeked out, seeing the stallion not there she walked out to get a drink from the chilling water.

He stood there as she leaned on him, silent as the dead. "You say you will me to try yet you go to another, open and without hesitation. You contradict your own words. Stop playing your games and come to truth with yourself." He said bluntly though not as harshly as he would've wanted. He backed up so she wouldn't hide her face. "I may be with bad character but I'm not blind." He knew she knew that he was speaking of Solis. She couldn't have both. Life wasn't fair like that.

Empire let her head face the grass. She felt her ears lying flat in defeat. The dark mare snorted quietly as two droplets tickled her snout. "You are not a bad soul. You are you. I would neverforgive myself if I made you anything else. I cannot tell if you are trying to push me away but that it what it feels like. But I will not let it go so easy. Excuse me." She cantered to Soils and nosed his cheek. "Soils love I cannot apologize enough. But you are too perfect to have to put up with all of this. You deserve better. A mare that can truly give her all to you. I really am sorry. I will still do everything in my power to ensure our foal lives well." She said with a bittersweet tone. Empire turned and made her way toward Ashurial. "I promised myself I would die trying to find you Ashurial and that I will not break. Push me away if you want but I will keep coming back."

Hanging his head in defeat the red stallion galloped away from their land, heartbroken. He didn't look back, driven by pain and anger, his legs like fire on the ground. He couldn't live with this reality, he no longer had anything to live for.

Empire looked back as he left. She felt like a ruthless villan. She turned back to Ashurial with eyes that were flooded with despair. If he continued to speak with such a guarded intent she would be driven to insanity. Empire needed affection but refused to seek it. She wanted to know if what she was doing was right. She may have just ruined her life. But did she??
