Shade sighed, watching Miska. He glanced at Miley, checking the little cub was still there, she was. He stepped forward. "Miska!" he called, trying to break up the fight, though it was kinda one-sided.

Her head was held high and ears perked forwards, her tail gently whipping the ground. Akira was on high alert as her son slept across her fore-limbs, making sure there was no danger. She had been in danger with the youngster before, and therefore there wasn't any place that they could stay very long. Occasionally the lioness could smell the drafted, wavering scent of a male, meaning that there was most likely a pride near. They always stuck close to the borders of prides, but she also kept her distance and never dared to enter their land. It was her instinct. Akira couldn't join a pride now, her life would be devoted to raising her son. As the sun beamed down on her golden pelt, her eyes took a moment to fall shut as her ears listened for any noises around them. The squirrels in the large trees above them were squeaking and chattering, and it was beginning to put the poor mother on edge. It wouldn't be long before she carried Ari a bit more.

The month old cub lay across his mother's front limbs, his ears twitching at the occasional fly buzzing buy. Ari had been sleeping for about half an hour now, happily taking a nap for once. All of this travel had been exhausting for the little one, despite the fact that half of it he was being carried in his mother's mouth or beneath the shade of a large tree. He hadn't ever really lived in a den, aside from when he was born, due to his mother needed to travel so far to keep him safe.
