The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are.
- It's that one word that any farm-raised horse yearns for. To sail free with the wind dancing along in your mane; to be able to do what you want, whenever you want. Without the burden of a rider on your back, you could go anywhere and do anything you wanted. Even the old saying "the grass is greener on the other side" applies to you. But still, that thing you yearn for is far from your hoof's grasp. Until a disaster broke the bond between you and your human. With a last glance, you galloped away, never to see them again. You thought your dreams had come true, your hopes were sailing.
Until the outlook of your future seemed bleak. You soon realised that living out on the prairies wasn't exactly your style. You knew nothing about finding food or water, and the heat of the blazing sun was enough to weaken any horse. Soon, rumour reached your ears of the herds that lived out this way. Stallions fought over their mares, for they were their most prized possessions, and each horse of the hills knew out to find food.
Maybe life won't be so bad after all.
