General Behavior
Bengal Tigers are solitary beasts that roam and hunt alone,
though rarely they work together. They travel far to
hunt their prey, usually large game such as wild boar,
badgers, water buffaloes, deer, goats, warthogs,
and wildebeests. Small game is less preferred, and
only eaten as a snack unless the tiger is starving.
Tigers do not have permanent homes, like wolves,
but instead travel and sleep in any good shelter or
hade. Tigers can climb trees, swim, and leap great
distances.

Female vs. Male
Tigers are fully grown and mature at the age of about
four, more or less depending on the individual. Mating
season is during fall, winter, and spring, and is not
secluded to any certain time. Two to four tiger kittens
are born about three and a half months later. They nurse
up to six months. Once weaned, they learn hunting and
survival skills from their mother, and then leave to find
their own home 18 months after being born.
Habitat
Tigers live in and around grasslands, subtropical and
tropical rainforests, scrub forests, wet and dry
deciduous forests and mangroves. Their striped fur
blends with the grass and leaves, making their
preferable method of hunting sneaking up close to the
prey and then jumping out on it. However, tigers are
very fast and can outrun many kinds of prey for
short distances.
