Silver sat down on her rock. Bored as usual. But hey, it was the beginning of the three packs. Runner had Eastern, Chaser had Western. She had Northern, the best pack there is supposed to be. When she was told there was no South Pack, everything changed from that day forward.

Paradise watched the clouds drift back and forth. He wished he could be up there, but it was impossible for a wolf to fly, so what was the point in believing any more in flying?

Chaser sat on his rock listening to the sounds of the forest. Carefully he picked up the scent of a moose somewhere, but he ignored it, the moose wasn't important right now.

Dancer sat in her den, waiting. It was slightly cold outside and she knew it wouldn't get warmer anytime soon.

Runner stood in the middle of his camp. He watched Jewel as she killed rabbits.
