"Oh we'll then." he said, standing. He had tried to fight it back, but sadness was in his voice: it slipped in. He hated being alone. He quickly stood up and trotted towards his house agani, hopeing they hadn't heard it.

Akria woke in the middle of the night. Everyone was still up apparently. She yawned, then rolled onto her back. The sand mingled with her fur, and she twisted into the sand.

Piper laid on the beach alone, watching the sunset. He let out a lone sigh and curled up into a ball. He once again faced the sunset so he could continue watching it. After a while, piper got tired and his eyes started to close. He decided to go back to his hut and go to sleep. When he reached the hut, he laid down and went to sleep.

Jax made his way out of his hut, sitting down up the shore, his paws barely touching the waves, he sighed, letting the wind blow through his fur, he watched the sun set, enjoying the beauty of nature.

Carrie watched the brute as he talked, looking into his eyes for emotion. Then she caught something in his tone- sadness. She watched him trot away, feeling a little guilty. "Wait!" She called loudly.

Blaze flattened his half folded ears, but didn't stop or turn.

Carrie frowned. "Wait!" She called again, louder this time. She felt bad for him.

{Chaucer is quite the specimen. He’s tall and bulky, and the row of muscles he has is hidden beneath his fluffy coat. Even so, it’s clear that this dog is not something you want to mess with. The only weakness seen in his build is his front leg, which is turned at a strange angle and often carried weird when he walks.}

What is your pelt like
{Chaucer’s pelt is long and silky, the black shiny when it’s clean, which is rare. His tail and legs look feathered, and they’re always getting tangled with mud and leaves.}

What are your eyes like
{His eyes are a boring brown, but the focus in them is clear.}

Scars or special markings
{Chaucer has a scar all the way around his neck from an embedded chain. He also has several scars across his body and legs, though most are covered by his thick pelt.}

On the inside

General personality
{Chaucer is a very intense and serious dog. He’s all business, very strict and stern. There’s no gentle side to this dog. If you want a fight with him, it’s a fight you’ll get. He’s not afraid of pain and insults, and he certainly knows how to use his teeth and claws to his advantage. Most consider him unapproachable, as he puts on an act of bravado and bravery (though he’s had it for so long, there’s little left of him besides what he pretends to be). The best behavior you’ll see Chaucer with is around females. He’s very much of a flirt. He’s also vain and considers himself the best thing to hit the playground, which is probably where his pessimism and brutality stem from.}

Flaws
{Chaucer has more flaws than fine points about him. He’s hard-hearted, quick to act, and just all-around cruel to most of the male dogs he encounters.}

Fears
{Due to his past, Chaucer is deathly afraid of chains, though he won’t openly admit it. He’s also slightly scared of heights. It’s not often you’ll find him hanging out on hills or cliffs. His biggest fear is humans. He hated the life he had with them and dislikes being around them. He knows that they are the one thing that could have complete power over him.}

The past

Just born
{Chaucer was born on the side of the road to only a mother. She had six puppies to care for on her own and found it hard to deal with all of the hungry mouths. Somehow, she was able to provide for all of them, leaving only the runt to die.}

Puphood
{Chaucer didn’t have an easy life starting out. He was picked on by his siblings because of his larger size, though he could always win in a play fight. He often went hungry and didn’t grow to his full size because of malnourishment during these months of his life. At five months old, Chaucer was found by two men when he had wandered off from his mother and siblings.}

Playing rougher
{The two men were in the dog fighting business, and they began to train him to do what was needed. Aggression came out of the teen easily enough, because of the things he had been dealt with in life. The beatings became regular, and often he was not given food. A chain collar was placed around his neck to separate him from the two other dogs they kept.}

All grown up
{Chaucer began fighting a little before he was an adult, but it definitely became more intense after he had matured. The battles became more frequent and more vicious, but he was winning them all. One evening, the training became a little too tough, and one of the men kicked him, instantly breaking his leg. The chain collar that had never been taken off of his neck was cut away, leaving him a gnarled neck. Now useless, he was left on the side of the road with a broken leg, a severely wounded neck, and an assortment of bite marks.}
