Archimedes
"Walking through the high dry grass..."
The dog panted lightly, rocks flying out behind him, some skittering over his pelt. He didn't seemed to mind, completely content in his element as he continued to dig.
"Pushing my way through slow..."
His fur was stained a dusty red, and his eyes were content, despite the fact dust continued to swirl around them. The canine paused for a moment, before his sharp claws hit rock again, and his hole began to dig deeper and deeper, his tail wagging in sheer content as he continued his job.
"Yellow belly black snake, sleeping on a red rock, waiting for the stranger to go..."
Archimedes sighed, his fur stained orange from the dusty from the red dirt he had been digging in. He didn't mind digging too much, it was just when he had to dig every single day, with other canines watching and expecting him to lead the way. Admittedly, he didn't want to be their leader, but he had been the one to find the dingo, and strike the deal, and it would be wrong to let them down, you know? He was a battler, and he was going to push onward for these dogs, who were so determined to make it out of this place, and join the ranks of what he remembered as the 'Blue Sky Miners'. He just couldn't let his own pack down, not when he had gotten this far.
Lashing his paw out, there was a small screech, and the canine stopped, sniffing the source of the screeching. This was what he had been looking for. He had struck the jackpot!
"We got some over 'ere, boys!" he barked, before padding a few ways off, to begin digging another gap.

Athena
"Oh hurry up, you big lazy buffoon!" a small, fluffy canine snapped, their lips curled into a snarl. "You're so lazy, it's a wonder that Archimedes won't have you kicked out!"
Bright blue eyes gazed over at the small, scrawny figure, and a large maw opened to let loose a large yawn, a big, surly canine standing up and stretching, as she was in no complete rush. Her large paws gently dragged along the ground, leaving small incisions in the dust as she shook the dirt from her fur. "Now, now, Benjamin," Athena woofed lowly in response, her voice calm and level. Canines had stopped to watch, the knowledge of Athena and Benji's dislike quite common among the dogs. They had argued here and there, but Benji had never really stepped up to the plate, to take on the big dog that Athena really was. "You wouldn't want everyone to know that you have been stealing extra food, would you?" She had lowered her voice, to whisper in the male's ear.
"You wouldn't dare." Benji growled, his long, perky ears shooting straight up as he stifled another growl. "I'd kill you!" Some dogs looked startled, unsure as to what Athena had whispered in his ear, but it must have been something important for Benji to throw a threat as freely as he had.
"Either way, you would still be punished severely by Archimedes, and I'll prevail over you, alive or not." Athena replied, pushing through a small group of dogs to the hole that she had begun to dig earlier on. "You can leave me alone, or continue to threaten me and I'll tell Archie, your choice."
Her fellow canine seemed to stop for a moment, before growling, and stalking off in the opposite direction, leaving Athena feeling rather smug as she turned to her hole, beginning to dig again.
