Dahlia was almost home when she noticed a pile of velvet at the base of the tree right by her thicket. Oh no, she thought, with a buck roaming this close to my house I might run into him. The idea of meeting a buck didn't bother Dahlia, it just sort of made her feel a little more uptight. As if she had to carefully watch what she was doing to make sure she didn't look stupid. Just in case she was being watched. She didn't mind much anyway, although she really did wish to have another fawn this year. And a buck living close to her home was of course very convenient for that to happen. Dahlia decided to just let fate and time work out whether or not she would ever get to meet this mystery buck. She paid no more mind to the matter, and quickly entered her home and laid down to prepare for the night.

Aster cocked her head to the side, listening as the buck tried to explain awkwardly. She felt more at ease because even though bucks always seemed big and scary to her, at least this one didn't seem so threatening. She also felt an extreme sense of relief and comfort to have so many other deer all around her. It reminded Aster of her herd life in her younger days. Aster stepped out boldly from behind Rose. "I'm sorry about overreacting." She chuckled nervously. "I've been a little uptight ever since I was left by myself. Well that, and I'm just naturally nervous" she smiled nervously, but her boldness in speaking to the buck surprised and pleased her. She almost didn't stutter at all. Aster noticed the buck seemed to like Rose. She smiled, happy for her friend that she had managed to strike the liking of a buck this early in the season. Rose was a pretty doe. Aster wondered what it would feel like for a buck to pay attention to her. Putting this thought aside, Aster's eyes suddenly lit up with an idea. "Hey, I know we just met, but maybe we could travel together? You know.. maybe be a herd?" Aster blushed and felt stupid for suggesting the idea. She wondered how they would respond.
