[[Sorry for the following posts. They are long, dramatic, and distressing. I just felt like adding a bit of tragedy to this RP.]]

A sharp sudden bark, a flash of teeth, an explosion of searing red-hot pain. It all happened at once, yet at the same instance Dahlia had time to think a single thought: "Goodbye, my son. I wish you the best life." It was an irrational thought, Dahlia had said goodbye to her soon months ago and it was never expected that they would see each other again anyway. But the fact that there was no logic to Dahlia's last thought was irrelevant. The wolf had gotten her and there was no escaping now. Dahlia succumbed to the pain as it exploded all over her body and the process of suffocation began. The wolf ripped away at her throat, sinking its teeth into her neck and cutting off her air supply. Dahlia sank down to her knees, her quivering unseeing gaze was blurred with tears. She closed her eyes for what she thought was the last time, then waited for the end. However, the end was not so quick to come. Another wolf leaped out of the bushes and tackled Dahlia's captor off of her back, leaving ugly gaping scrapes all across her back. It seemed that dispute between borders had saved her life. She watched in disbelief as the wolves wrestled each other with the fiercest fury she had ever seen in her life. How was it that two members of the same species could kill each other like this with no regards whatsoever? The wolf species was a cruel and horrible and awful mystery to her. Dahlia leaped away and stumbled into her thicket as fast as she could. She was bleeding badly, but she was only glad she had the privilege to die in peace in her home and not at the mouth of those savage and mindless monsters. Dahlia closed her eyes and sank away into unconsciousness, her body no longer able to cope with so much pain and blood loss.

The buck's deep and soothing voice entranced Aster. His huge antlers and muscular body had her mesmerized. Suddenly Aster did not feel afraid, but strangely... drawn. The doe shook herself to rid herself of the dizziness. She was bewildered beyond measure. What was happening to her and why did she feel so strange? It was as if the only thought that was capable of pounding through her head at this moment was a command to go closer to the buck. She had never felt anything like it. Was this some weird side-effect during the months before and during mating season? The horror of the idea struck her dumb. Suddenly, instead of stuttering, the doe spoke quickly, firmly, and directly. In an almost inaudible voice, she ran all of her sentences together and spit out the following words as quickly as she could: "I'm sorry to have been a bother you. It was very nice of you to fetch me this apple. I have to go now." The doe's pink blushing cheeks flashed as she batted her eyelashes twice and then bounded away quickly. But something was very wrong. She took a turn here, meandered her way back to there, but still could not find Rose or Operetta or either of the bucks. The sudden realization hit her like a rock. She was lost in the forest at night. How could this be? Was it possible that Aster had wandered farther away from her group than she thought, distracted by the winding deer path and the sight of the far-off apple tree? Aster burst into tears at the whole situation, wishing that she could call out the mysterious buck's name. If only she knew his name! What she would do to be with him again, and Rose and Opprettah too. She daydreamed of the buck, fantasizing that he might follow her sobbing voice and find his way back to her side. Then she would never leave him like that again. As soon as she thought these things, they seemed like inadequate and awkward thoughts. Aster decided she must be going crazy. She resorted to stand there and wait until the end, where a wolf or other night-hunter would surely find her.
