Jax took in a deep breath, shaking his head as he trotted to the lake once more, happy to just here the sounds of nature and not the commotion of other dogs, he laid down and calmly shut his eyes.

Akira turned and went back to where the sand hole was. She lay the pups under a box that had one side ripped open. She had done this, as it was a large box, but she put the pups in there to keep them shaded. She then turned to the sand pile and started digging. She continued digging for a half an hour, which by then the clumps of sand as started to become red from her now bleeding paws. She let out a couple of whined each time a paw touched the ground.)
