You drag yourself onward: Paw pads sore, chest heaving, heart pounding. There is nothing left on your body but the thinnest layer of skin. Your muscles cease to exist in your greatest time of need. They slowly disappeared on your long journey in search of a new pack. Unfortunately you are unaccustomed to pushing your body for such a long, strenuous period of time. As you slow your pace ever so slightly, you let your fatigued body relax. Finally you come to a complete stop and let your rump lower to the damp ground. The thin layer of dew covering the grass makes contact with your tattered, raggedy fur as you do so. The corners of your muzzle rise upwards into a smile of pleasure as your let your body loosen up a bit. Your snout rises into the air instinctively, taking in all of the unfamiliar scents. For a second or two you get a sudden whiff of musky mutt. Other wolves? You ask yourself, but the scent passes you by, and you shrug your shoulders ignoring it. For the first time since you left your old pack you let yourself look around. With dull, tired eyes you pan your surroundings, seeing nothing but forested area. You've stepped into a medium sized circular patch of grass surrounded by trees that easily outsize any wolf or animal for that matter. There towering figures are intimidating, but beautiful as there long leafy branches sway effortlessly in the wind. You let the breeze tickle your ears and ruffle through what's left of your fur. It's seems as if all your troubles melt away into the ground and your no longer in pain or starving to death. Suddenly that same musky odor drifts past your muzzle, but this time it seems to be female. Though your senses had been weakened along the way, you could still easily decipher this specific scent as female. It was sweet and a bit flowery. There was something else that seemed to linger along with the flowery smell. More wolves? A patrol maybe? You think to yourself. Quickly you rise to all fours, ready to defend your body, hoping with all your might that these wolves are not willing to cause harm. You are aware of your weak condition, and know for sure you'd not last long in a battle. Especially if there is more than one wolf. "Hello young wolf. You've come a long way I'm guessing. Your appearance tells me so," a soft and gentle voice speaks and seems to echo all around you. Your body begins to tremble with terror. You open your mouth to speak, but you cannot find the words to say. It's almost as if a million years pass before the silence is broken by more of her rhythmic words. "I am Elitra-Rae, Alpha of the Moonstone Pack. I'm sure you've heard of it. The wolves that belong to my pack thrive well, and are built to handle almost anything. We are brilliant warriors, but unfortunately we lack members." When she is finished speaking a pair of eyes are revealed from behind a bush. Their color is a magnificent silvery grey, shimmering in the daylight. Then you recall the name Moonstone Pack... It sounded familiar. Yes it sounded quite familiar, but where had you heard of it before. The elder's tales! The thought hits you and also remember the female wolves name: Elitra-Rae. "Yes, y-yes. I've h-heard of you before," You finally answer with frightened eyes. Elitra, the Alpha of Moonstone Pack, inches forward now revealing her whole figure. She is small, yet muscular and looks to be well fed. Her pure white fur is thick, but looks smooth to the touch. She's magnificently beautiful. The sun is dappled upon her pelt and you find it hard to look away from the gorgeous female. "Come closer and tell me your name. That'd be fair, seeing as I already told you mine." Hesitantly you shuffle forward. You don't need to look up to know she's observing you carefully. So you keep your head down respectfully, looking at the ground quietly. "My name is (random wolf). Your right about me traveling far. I'm in search of a pack to call home, but have been obviously unfortunate," You speak in a quiet voice. "Well, here is you chance young wolf. I'm inviting you into my pack where you will be able to regain your health, strength, and senses. If you decline my offer I will not be offended, it is your choice to make." Your mind races and your heart begins to pound against your chest once again. You only have two choices, stay and thrive or move on to look for somewhere else to call home...
