The paramedic said, "Come to the emergency hospital ward. Your horse is causing havoc! Come and explain yourself now" He hung up, running to catch the horse.

The nurse said, "You may go in, as he will need moral support to hear the news" She walked off before Kelly could ask questions.

Adam was barely awake and heard Kelly outside. "Kell...." he said.

Jack sighed and backed the truck and trailer up. He hit adams bike and rolled his eyes loading the bike up wondering what all happened. he drove out to the hospital with his tranq. gun knowing Echo would not go by himself without adam.

Kellys heart quickened as the nurse sounded serious as if the news was bad. She stopped herself from getting worked up and walked in. She smiled at him and sat next to his bed.

Adam moved his hand slightly nearer to Kelly's. "Are you," he paused, as speaking was tiring. "okay?"

The surgeon and doctor came in, holding some x-rays and sat on the chairs across from the bed. "Hello there, you two" the doctor holding the x-rays said. "I have some news. Not exactly good"

Echo galloped in the halls, neighing loudly, kicking open doors to see if Adam was there. Finally ,he came across the right door, and kicked it open. There Echo stood, walking into the doorway and into the room.

The doctor and surgeon were stunned.

Adam didn't realize that Echo was in the room, he seemed to be fading away under the heavy anesthesia.

Kelly nodded and said, "yes im fine..scared but fine..". She held his hand as the doctors came in and closed her eyes. she didnt want to hear it. To scared to face reality of how bad it could be and or was. She looked up and said, "echo?".

Jack strolled in casually and said," just getting my horse..". He followed the sound of hoof clops on the hard floor until he found him. He aimed for his rump.

Adam saw a blurred Jack and said, "Don't Jack. I want...him to hear what is wrong...with me too"

The doctor said, "There is no easy way to say this, but Adam, you're paralyzed from the waist down."

Adam seemed to have no emotion. That was because had too much emotion.

The surgeon continued, "We will give you a wheelchair, but I'm afraid you won't be able to," he paused, glancing at the horse. "ride."

Adam was still and quiet. The only movement was the tightening of his hand around Kelly's.

Kelly sighed and rested her head on him.Not knowing what to think.She said,"is it temporary or will it stay forever?" not looking at them..

After the doctors were done jack shot and hit him. He set his gun down and waited for him to go down.

Echo stumbled neighing, and he heard the last words the doctor said. He fought not to fall unconscious, but he couldn't. He collapsed to the floor.

"Kelly," the doctor said. "You can look at these x-rays. It's permanent nerve damage here, here and here" The doctor pointed to certain places on the x-ray. "I am so sorry," he said. "I am so sorry. I think that a fiancee is exactly what Adam needs right now, and I'm glad that you were here. Normally patients are in much shock after hearing such news, that they enter an episode of depression for a bit, so please monitor him. I'll leave you two alone" He stood up with the surgeon and left the room, stepping over the horse and going out the door.

Adam seemed to stare at the ceiling. He had no frown nor smile. He just stared.

JAck smiled and nodded at the two doctors dragging echo out on the tile floor. He was going to get the details from kelly later.

Kelly sighed and claimed up in the bed laying next to him. She hugged him and said,"adam.."

Adam didn't respond and instead just closed his eyes.
