Kimble lifted her head from the curled position and saw the bloody rabbit dangleing from Melborne's jaws.

Melborne gently placed it in front of Kimble with gentle eyes.

Kimble ate most of the rabbit but left some for Melborne. She nudged the rest toward him.

Melborne smiled and barked, "Thank you." He finished the rabbit easily.

An odd smell came to Ginger's nose. She squirmed to get closer but identified it as food. Losing interest instantly, she squirmed over to her mother for milk instead.

Melborne watched Ginger with amazement. New life had been born in this city and suddenly everything seemed a lot more happy.

Kinmble licked Ginger's head, quite happy.

Melborne looked at his paws and barked, "I guess I should leave you to your life now."

Kimble flattened her ears against her head. "Oh.... Well, your welcome to stay with me and Ginger, you know, i-if you want to..."

Melborne smiled and lied down slightly away from her and the pup knowing females were snappy when it comes to being a new mother.
