Nali
She let her ripped and raw paws slow their drumming on the ground as she neared the place she had called home since she came to this awful place. She was surprised no other ever inhabited this place,it had shelter and was almost big enough to make a family in.Who cares, she thought I should be happy that my box is mine. She settled to eat the rest of her food when she heard, just faintly,a twig snap and a leaf crunch. She bolted upwards and snarled a warning as she smelt it.The horrid, earthy smell of the coyotes. The coyotes that had almost torn her to pieces once.
She felt her hackles raise and she stealthily climbed up to higher ground, watching as 5 coyotes turned into 8,surrounding her.She looked to her left and wondered if she could make the leap from this roof to the taller one,and if she could get down. She backed up to the very edge and felt a part of the roof crumble beneath her black foot, then she felt the vibrations as her weight became too much for the old house. She swallowed a terrified yelp and thundered to the edge, leaping just as the roof disintegrated. In the air she stretched her muscled body out.Her paws just barely reached the houses edge and she got her breath knocked out as her body slammed into the brick. Her hind legs scrambled for leverage as she desperately struggled to get onto the roof. She knew if she fell the pack would surely rip her to shreds just by sheer numbers, ready to seek vengeance on her for killing their leaders and the fighter the last time they came with only three, not 8.
