Ronan said nothing and continued to look at the seemingly shimmering figure as the mare answered him. Her words didn't bring the certain reassurance that the equine figure was as harmless to him and the mare he was sharing shelter with as he'd hoped. After a long time of watching the silhouette, the chestnut stallion broke his gaze and turned away realizing it would not advance any further. The stallion exhaled, releasing a pent up breath he hardly realized he had been holding. In a way it stung his pride, how momentarily nervous he had become over the thought of facing that black brute again, and Ronan silently cursed himself when he realized that the small mare, even in this murky half-light, had fed off his anxiety also. The mix-breed stallion dropped his head in a small nod, the motion far more humbling than he should have given to a stranger. "I'm sorry to have worried you." Ronan began, making a conscious motion to keep the mare's gaze within his own, he would not show cowardice by dividing his attention. "I am not as free of rivals as I used to be, and well-" The stallion shifted his injured foreleg, the wound itching and stinging as his mind became more aware of it's presence. "I'm not exactly in any condition to be fighting right now." He finished, his words deadpanning. Ronan was rarely a stallion to admit to his own wrongdoings, his ambition and pride making him almost stubborn in the sense, he had no idea how to apologize for his sudden reaction, and did so with none of the stallion-like grace he usually possessed.

Feather's head tilted to the side, and filled with curiousity, she moved forwards a few steps to study his injured leg in the lowlight. Her large brown eyes held concern and sympathy as they glinted in the watery light around them. "I'm sorry." She murmured, blinking as she came back to reality. She met Ronan's gaze, her ears slanted forwards. "May I ask what happened?" Her soft voice was tenitive, unsure and almost fearful. She was so delicate sometimes, like the object she was named after. A shiver ran through her body, and she watched the stallion carefully. She hoped he was alright, but reminded herself that she shouldn't involve herself in others' business. It almost always ended up dragging her down. That was why she was a loner. She was too afraid to attach herself to anyone.
Hello there. :) I'm incredibly sorry for my disappearence from this website, but I have had NOOOO time to do things like this. XD I've been so busy. But some of my activities will slow down come Winter, so I think I'll be able to come back. But there's one problem. This account is REALLY cluttered. :/ I hate having 43 pages of pointless/dead roleplays and things. And I've let it sit inactive for a while, so it is kind of pointless. Ronan shifted back slightly, when the mare approached. His survival and prey animal instincts sending an unnecessary signal of warning shooting through his veins. He took a moment to relax his muscles, and shake these unwanted reactions from his mind, hoping the mare would assume this only his reaction to the damp wetness that bit through his coat from the rain. Ronan sighed through his nose"It's not something to be sorry for, I earned it and gained from a fight I started." Ronan responded, careful leaving out the fact that while he had been the one to throw himself so carelessly into the situation, he had done it out of selfish reasons that if given the opportunity, he might repeat the action again for. "There was this stallion." He began, pausing for the right words. "He'd snaked a mare, who wasn't faring very well from it. A big abusive brute that used far too much force, one of those foreign horses I think. The mare was still fighting against him, and I knew it wouldn't end well for her from what I could see." Ronan snorted softly a noncommittal sound that punctuated the pause between his words. "So I went after him, I thought if I could distract him long enough for the mare to run off, he'd leave her be and go snake some other poor and more willing soul but I was wrong." He said, letting a pause drop between his words. "The brute was not above cheap shots and in the end he still went after the mare. I don't know what's become of her now, or another mare he went after. The second made off I think, though no better than I or the other mare, but I wasn't in any shape to continue trying to help her in her escape, so I left." Ronan smirked slightly as if laughing at his own cowardice. "Wasn't exactly my proudest moment."

Feather listened to Ronan's story and nodded slightly. At his last comment, she sighed softly. "Sometimes, to do what's right we have to put aside our our own feelings." She whispered, half talking to herself and to the stallion. The comment she made wasn't exactly relavent to the situation that Ronan described, but she had said the first thing that came to her mind. She retreated back a few steps, seeming to almost shrink back into herself. Back to the fearful and nervous mare that she was. She paused for a few moments before opening her mouth and speaking again. "That's why I keep to myself. I shy away from any stallions because I fear for my own safety and I'm too fearful to settle down with someone. I can't trust anyone but myself." She murmured, her voice sad and distant. She met Ronan's eyes, her expression a mix between concern and anxiety.

Ronan almost regretted it when the mare stepped back away from him, shrinking back into an all-but visible shell again. In the moments before the mare was speaking again, the chestnut stallion was desperately wanting her back again and wondering how he could have that happen. Soon the slight blue female was speaking again in her soft voice, sounding very far off as if she was calling out from somewhere in the back of her mind. "It's lucky for mares like you then, that there are stallions with more bravery than wits like me, then isn't it." Ronan said matter-of-factly, his voice still quieted to not startle the mare. The stallion had grown tired of the space between them though, and once he had spoken stepped forward to mirror the same steps the little blue mare had taken, as if the two were moving in some kind of dance. He swallowed the grimaces from moving his inured leg, the pain not so sharp as before but still enough to make him suck in a harsh breath. "Because that sounds like an awfully lonely way to live, if you ask me." Ronan said, stopping short and leaving the mare a wide girth of personal space, so as not to crowd her.

Feather's head tilted to the side, a look of concern and fear on her face at the Stallion's last words. She didn't like the tone of his voice...it sounded worried. Putting the pieces together, she assumed he was afraid of another horse who had hurt him. "No." She murmured, shaking her pretty blue head back and forth slowly. "But the rain is thick, and I wasn't really looking." She paused, shifting her weight from hoof to hoof in a nervous geasture. She relaxed a little bit after Ronan had spoke. His words had been kind. But once he asked about another horse, it brought the old anxiety rushing back. Even in the dim light, Feather could make out the bloody form of the stallion's wound. It looked painful, and her heart ached for him. The mare had always been extremely kind and caring...but was always too shy or skiddish to share it with anyone.

Dawn snorted, giving Nightmare a strange look. "You never know." She retorted to his comment about biting. She had met stallions that bite. Almost all of them do. She eyed him suspiciously, but stood her ground, deciding not to leave. "Dawn." She said simply, watching the male named Nightmare with keen eyes.

Paxaro grinned, his friendly disposition showing. "It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss Dalis." He replied, taking a few steps closer to her. His movements were harmless and slow, showing that he didn't mean to hurt the mare, or attempt any funny business. "What is a beautiful mare like you doing out here all alone?" He asked, his head tipping to the side in a curious nature.

Nigнтмαяε

Nightmare gave a half smile and tore his gaze away from her."Dawn." He repeated quietly."So Dawn what are you doing way out here?" He asked, flicking his tail to the side.

Dαℓis

Dalis held her bright smile. She chuckled a bit, looking down for a moment. She looked back up at him,"Well, just wandering around, I suppose. And you?" She asked, flicking her ears forward.

Spot The Difference|5 years|mare| Loner| Not in heat

Spotty sighed, listening to the storm pound down around her. She shivered heavily, the tree she was under didn't offer much protection from the harsh weather. Particularly from lightning. Shifting her weight onto her other leg tiredly, Spotty looked around her surroundings. She couldn't currently see any other horses. Which isn't always a bad thing, Spotty reminded herself. Atleast I'm not being pestered by stallions every 5 seconds.

"It is." Feather whispered, her voice so soft, it was hardly audible above the pounding rain. A roll of thunder broke the silence between Ronan and her in the few seconds that followed. When the stallion moved closer, the mare stiffened, her instincts telling her to move away or get out of there. Taking a few deep breaths, she tried to dispell the feelings of terror that were now coursing through her. Suddenly, a thought struck her, and she tilted her head to the side, relaxing slightly. She realized that she had not even asked for the stranger's name. If they were both stuck under this tree, and he was wounded, they might as well know who each of them were. She sighed softly, lifting her eyes and meeting Ronan's gaze with her own. "May I ask your name?" She murmured sotly.

"Walking? Is there a problem with that?" Dawn asked, lifting her head and trying to meet his eyes. Her words were not a challenge, though they were strong and bold like one. She didn't like when Stallions got all huffy when she crossed into their territory. Their land, their rival's land....who cared? It all belonged to the earth in the end.

Pax smiled widely, glad that Dalis was responding brightly and friendly-like. "I guess I was doing just about the same thing. Though I am glad that I have run into you." He said, taking two small steps closer to her. He stopped, setting most of his weight on his backlegs. He gave her a geasture that read something like, 'I won't get any closer if you don't want me to.' He wanted to give other horses plenty of space, but never really knew how far away that was.

{{Alright Vanilla, can't wait for the replies.}}

"Ronan" The stallion replied, the slight Irish lilt that the green land gifted to all it's inhabitants making the word between Ronan's teeth sound like Ron-in. He remained where he stood, not wanting to worry the blue mare, his stance relaxed as he could afford without putting too much pressure on his injured leg. Her voice was impossibly soft, and even with both ears focused on her the flaxen chestnut could hardly hear her words above the rain that hit the leaves above them in a cacophony of sound. She seemed frightened of the world, and twice as frightened of horses in a way that pained him more than it should. The stallion was used to a small range of emotions towards him, but none of them that came from mares were fear, it effected him in a way that seemed impossible for Ronan to describe to himself. "And yours?" The pony stallion asked, his voice coming across a little clearer now as the rain dipped into one of it's usual lulls in downpour.
