The dim sunlight filtered in throught the trees, skipping lightly on the virgin ground beneath me. Just breathe, I thought to myself, in an attempt to find peace in the woods. Hah. As if.

With a sigh of frustration, I shook my broad, silvery head. A voice sounded quite suddenly from behind me, and I swiveled my head around to meet the artist of it. My gaze was left lonely; no eyes staring back at me.

"Friend or foe?" It questioned. Well, I knew that I was extremely intimidating, so I let my tail was slightly. It swayed back and forth. Honestly, I knew that I wasn't even the least bit frightening, but another being talking excited me.

"Friend," I responded with a half smile.

Teka walked out of the shadows an nodded her head an showed the new wolf to follow her... "Hello.. in Teka.. Leader of the dawn pack.. Tell me your name young one..." she said as she reached the clearing...

"Uh, nice to meet you. I'm Chandler, alpha loner," I quipped sarcastically. Afterward, I mentally kicked myself. Are you TRYING to ruin your chance at happiness?! I snapped to myself mentally.

"Sorry. Not funny, I know," I barked dejectedly. It was a long shot, but I flashed her a smile, discreetly pleading for forgiveness.

she looked back at him an chuckled.. "oh no need to to be sorry.." she said an went to the kill pile an got a rabbit an went into her den.. poking her head out "Oh dont forget to find your den before someone else!" she snickered

"Thanks," I breathed, extremely relieved. This dog seemed nice; lenient, forgiving... The perfect wolf to lead. But would she accept me after she saw the way I normally acted? Probably not, but I pushed that thought to the side. We would cross that bridge when we came to it.

"Can do," I muttered, before trotting of in the direction opposite hers. A den. That shouldn't be hard. I reasoned to myself. But, as I continued my jog, I realized how wrong I'd been.

Caves. Caves everywhere. My eyes widened as the open mouthed-boulders stared at me. They were all dank and unwelcoming; how long would it take to make this place not make me embarassed to call it home?

With a sigh, I padded quietly toward a house that didn't particularly stand out, but the shadow that the enterance gave off eminated it in a scent of solitude. Yep. Home sweet home.

she checked up on everyone.. no sign of jake.. then she saw foot prints.. beside the new wolves.. "oh no.." she walked along..
Jake~ "What are you doing here!" he yelled at the new wolf an growled baring his teeth...
"JAKE!" i yell... "GET OUT OF THERE! HES PART OF THE PACK NOW!"
jake growls an walks out.. again.. leaving for a while...

I stood, rigid, my sides heaving uncontrollably. When the brute came in, I couldn't speak. My voice caught in my throat, and I stood stock-still and silent. Like a coward.

After a few seconds of regaining my breath and recollecting my vocabulary, I managed to speak in butchered sentences.

"Who- who was that?"

jake growls a little an glares at teka.. "jake.. just go.." teka says...
"ANYWHO! that wont happen again.. an im sorry for that..... " teka looks him in the eyes...

"Oh, no need to be sorry," I smiled, quoting her from earlier. I wasn't sure if she would catch the reference, but either way, it was the right answer. I hoped.

As I looked up, I saw her eyes watching me. Meeting her gaze, I let out a soft laugh.
