"Ummmm...." Mercury glanced back bedew looking back up at Zyphan. "I think so. They haven't done anything bad and the other cub is too small to do anything." He sat down, puffing out his chest as if he was trying to look bigger. "I won't let then do anything bad. Serene is teaching me some fighting moves!" The cub stood on his hindlegs and began slashing at the air. Unable to keep his balance, Mercury fell over on his side.

Serene smiled softly as she watched Mercury with affection. He liked to think he was bigger than he really was and that he would be like Zyphan when he was older.

Nero glanced over and saw that everyone was still gathered. He shook his head, he always felt nervous around a big group.

Zyphan nodded and then chuckled. He took out a claw and gently started to tickle his belly. Zyphan loved to play with the cubs of the pride. They made him happy and young. He was still very young to be an alpha, but wasn't as young as he used to be.

Saree looked at the group and then put her head back down," I hope the group is gone before it gets dark." She whispered to herself. Then looked back up at the sky seeing a butterfly Saree began to paw at it, trying to catch it.

Mercury began laughing as he was tickled. "Fierce lions aren't supposed to be tickled!" He squirmed while he continued to laugh. The cub managed to roll away and lay on his side, trying to catch his breath. "That wasn't fair!" He let out a playfully growl and tried to jump on the older lions back but he was too big. Instead, his chest made contact with Zyphans side, causing him to fall. "You are too big!"

Serene padded over and gently placed her paw on the cubs tail,"I don't think you should try to jump Zyphan if you want him to allow anyone to stay." She smiled at Mercury and removed her paw from his tail.

Rosa crouched low when she heard a squeak and slunk through the grass, suddenly some kind of small rodent darted away and Rosa raced after it. The cub ran passed a few other lions as she chased the rodent, pounced and landed with her front paws pinning down her prey.

Zyphan looked at Serene and chuckled, "You never know." He then crouched down and looked at Mercury," Am I too big now?" Zyphan playfully growled a bit and pawed the cub.

Saree got up and followed the butterfly. It landed on a blade of grass and she pounced. She missed, but came nose to nose with Nero. Her eyes widened in shock and quickly backed away," sorry...." Saree hid her face in shame that was the first time she had ever touched some one when she was playing.

Mercury smiled and crouched down, his rump wiggling. "Now you aren't as big!" He fell over when Zyphans paw knocked him over. "Wow! You have big paws," he commented as he jumped back up. Glancing down at his paws, they weren't as big but he hoped he would grow up as big as him. Crouching down again, he jumped and lightly grabbed the lions ear.

Nero slightly jerked back as the contact brought him out of his thoughts. Seeing it was only Saree, relief flooded his features as his tensed muscles relaxed. "Its ok. I was just suprised and it's not like you clawed me or anything." He smiled, trying to reassure her that it was fine."

"I've never come close to hitting some one while playing," Saree said softly. She back away a bit more and laid down not looking at him.

Zyphan let him tug his ear.
