Vaughn glanced at the sky, knowing he was in it's sight. But he didn't move. He simply closed his eyes in acceptance and preparation.

He smiled at Basil and hopped off towards the cliffs. Nearby, they stopped where a small mudslide had occurred. He pawed around it with his feet and sniffed it. "Doesn't look unstable now." He noticed some lupine growing from some rocks up to his right. "Hold on a second." He hopped up and picked a few of the delicate purple flowers. He made his way down carefully, the flowers grasped in his teeth. "Here." He dropped them in front of Basil gently and breathed deeply, inhaling her sweet scent. He knew if he took her as his mate, she would become Alpha of the warren. My alpha. He smiled, liking how that sounded.

Orion

He smiled at Snow. "A fitting name." He crept forward shyly. "They didn't hurt you, did they?" The worry was clear in his face, he hardly knew the doe but couldn't help but feel a warm tingle spreading though his body when he looked at her. He wondered if she belonged to a warren, or had a mate. He hoped she didn't. But I hardly know her.

"Umm.. no, I've ran from dogs before. I'm fine, just shaken"

Big Ma replied, "Alright then. You go off and fine yourself a nice mate, Vaughn". She turned back over on her back and let the sun warm her damp fur.

Vaughn made a face at the older doe, then shrugged and focused back on Bell. "I'm more surprised to see you here. I didn't think you were the kind of doe that wanted to settle down." He said coolly.

"Never really have. I want to enjoy my youth before I think of settling down." Bell said, looking into the distance.

Vaughn nodded. "I can understand that. But it's also important to pass on your genes; you can easily die in youth, and it's better to get a mate early. Most males my age already have a mate, maybe even kits. But now I've chosen the time to find a mate; perhaps you should choose your time soon." With a sigh, he turned away from the black doe and hopped to the shade of a fern, grooming his fur so he would look impressive to any arriving females.

Big Ma rolled back over and sat up. She rolled her eyes at Vaughn, and muttered half to herself, "Kids today..... Back in my day, kits weren't aloud to make comments or act rude to others. Well, that was way back then", she said, spreading her legs out to sn herself again.

Bell rolled her eyes, then scavenged for any food. She hopped to the river, and lapped some water.
