Amarillis
Despite the cold, her dry throat burned. She dipped her white muzzle into the snow, scooping the cold water crystals with her tongue, where they melted into pleasently cold water. She lapped at the snow until her thirst was quenched. Amusedly watching Blaise, she grinned. "Cold?" She teased. Blaise was always like this on winter mornings, trying to shake off the frigid air; whereas she was comfortably warm in her long coat. She stood up and loped away, towards more open plains, in search of breakfast. Slowing, she parted her jaws slightly to taste the wind blowing towards her as she scanned the horizion for spots of black that would mean the eyes of a rabbit.

Blaise
Blaise stretched again, and shook himself, trying to rid his coat of the snow that had collected during the night. It was at times like these when he envied Amarillis's thick coat. He comforted himself with thoughts of spring, not too far off. Fluffing up his pelt, he watched as his companion trotted off. He hope she would bring back a few rabbits. He hadn't seen any large prey in days.

West
"Don't fear the wolf but the wild within."
West didn't realise how close to the borders of the local wolf territory she was, although the stench of wolf flooded her nostrils when she inspected the base of a tree. To be exact, it was the River pack's territory she had ventured close to. With food on the mind she was spurred further into the claimed land, hoping to catch the scent of something meaty and non-lupine.
She trailed along the territory border, snout to the cold ground. Her body posture was rather relaxed; none threatening.

Blaise
Blaise stiffened when he caught the scent of another wolf. He knew he was on pack territory; he and Amarillis had been wandering around the Stream and River packs territories' for days. He felt his fur bristle and stand on end as he let out a low growl. He glanced out over the open plains, trying to pick out Amarillis's white coat from the snow. Nothing. She'd better hurry back.... Keeping his ears pricked and his muzzle in the air, he scanned the scant treeline and the snow-covered fields for wolves.

Mako came close to his outer border, then stopped, catching the scent of a wolf close by. The pelt on his shoulders rose lightly, as the large brute followed the scent, his ears perked and his tail raised. He looked around, his dark brown eyes bright, making sure he didn't over look the stranger. The scent soon grew stronger, and he growled slightly for a moment, realizing the wolf may be in his territory. He kept going, his muscles slightly stiffened, as he scented more wolves, now scenting three, and by the smell, a male and two females. He stopped, thinking about which one he should go after. He decided to go after the ones higher in his territory, his pelt prickling.

West
"Don't fear the wolf but the wild within."
She travelled upwind, therefore unaware of the other wolves whom were lurking elsewhere. The snow's brittle coldness numbed her underfoot, freezing her toes and stinging her pawpads. Eventually she'd have to find somewhere to warm them up before she continued. Afterall she couldn't very well hunt without feeling in her limbs, could she?
She began drifting further inwards of the territory towards what appeared be a river, attracted by the vague scent of water and stagnant flesh. Perhaps a meal wouldn't be impossible in the end.

Mako continued on, sniffing the air. He looked around, not seeing anyone. He grunted, and kept going. He ended up seeing West first, in his territory near the river. He let out a growl and trotted up to her. "Who are you, and why are you in my territory?" He asked as he came up to her.

West
"Don't fear the wolf but the wild within."
Upon reaching the river West had spotted a pair of juvenile coyote toying with a water-logged segment of elk carcass that had become partially trapped and frozen near the river bank opposite. She'd been trying to find a way across to it, hoping to scare the two smaller canids off in order to seize the 'prize' when a gruff voice startled her.
She whipped around with her hackles raised and tail lowered between her hind legs.
"W-what do you mean, your territory?" She asked somewhat nervously. "I-I didn't think this place was occupied... there weren't many warnings." She spoke her excuse quickly.
