Chief whimpered a little. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked. I didn't know." He felt guilty. He felt like a jerk. Chief sat down and remembered his old life. In his pack at home, there were the masters and Chief and another dog. The other dog was much older than Chief. They were very close and Chief looked up to the dog. When the storm rolled in, his masters left. Chief tried to save his best friend but the dog was old and slow. They were lost in the storm. Chief searched for days to find him but when he had....It was too late.

She looked up at him with a reassuring look. "It's okay. You didn't know and I don't mind being asked." Her paws stayed ontop of the collar as she talked and her tail lay over it as well.

Chief looked at her with his blue eyes. "Is that your old collar?" He asked. He looked down at his own collar that was worn out around his neck. Then looked back up at Avalon.

Roxy smiled. "I'm Roxy." She told the brute sweetly. "What's your name?"

"Blaze." he said simply.

Chief nodded. "So are there other storm survivors? Or is it just us?" He asked hoping they weren't the last two. He looked around for any sign of other dogs but he couldn't see or smell them.

"Blaze." Roxy echoed. "Well Blaze, you are very sweet. Thanks for not hurting me." She told him and gently nudged his shoulder. "What were you doing up here anyways?"

"I have a pack... This is the main place we stay." he said simply.

Roxy frowned. "A pack? What kind of pack?" She had never been in a pack before but for some reason she knew exactly what it was. She guessed her ancestors were in a pack or somthing.

"A pack where every dog joins?" he said. He wasn't sure how to describe it.

Roxy giggled. "Ok. Well can I be one of those dogs?" She asked him as she laid her head on his front paws. "I've never been in a pack before."

She shook her head no. "There are more. I'm part of a small pack that's stays around this area. Would you like me to take you to the alpha?"

Chief nodded. "Sure. I'd love to ask if I could join the pack." He told her, his tail wagging. "Better than being alone."
