Midnight looked over and met his gaze as he said the words 'previous herd'. She looked back at the foals before continuing, making sure they weren't paying attention. She turned back to Cal and took a step closer so she was farther and harder for them to hear and closer to Cal so that he could hear better. She let out a sigh before beginning, "Zeus was the lead stallion of my old herd and at first he acted sweet and loving, especially when I had the twins.. he was there for me. Then when one of his other mares, Ravuo's mother, acted like she was dead from the cougar attack right after giving birth he sorta of went crazy. He began to force mate with all of this mares.. even some loners. Luckily we had gotten away while he was off snaking a mare and we haven't seen him since." she looked back at the yearling and then back at Cal, "I try not to talk about it.. knowing that Midnight was so close to her father and had to leave all of the sudden. I just don't know how she'd react.. they'd react."
