"I came from a house consisting of a mama, a daddy, a baby, and a dog. I was an only child that was a bit spoiled, to be honest. My parents were easy going, and my dog was my best friend. My puppy, a beautiful boxer called Chloe, lived to be 14. She lived a very pampered life, and God bless her, but I honestly think she was more cared for than I was.
After I finished school, I went to community college in Dallas, Texas. "Collin College" was pretty great. I graduated with all Honors, and then moved on to go to the college of my dreams. Harvard. Mama was so proud of me when I graduated that she paid for half of my unpaid tuiton.
Then it all went bad. I went bankrupt, the hospital that I was the head doctor at shut down, and I was foreclosed. That's when I needed another Chloe. Well, that's when I realized anyway. I needed her long before then. So I went online, contacted a dog breeder, and went to pick up my new partner.
She bred border collies and shetland sheepdogs. I went to the collies first, finding none that caught me eye. Then I neared the shelties. One little blue merle boy caught my eye. I stuck my finger in his play pen and stroked his fur. Since then, Ruiz has been my sidekick and I love him like he were a human.
