As Luna reached the river she heard another howl from Calla, this one calling Renier and Tabestan. She figured Calla was calling them to help the hunting party. With all those wolves out there, a lot of food would be coming in. Her head lowered to the water and her pink tongue slid out of her mouth and began to lap up the refreshing fluid. Her head raised again to it's normal, proud height as she finished drinking. She looked about her surroundings, wondering what to do. With all the wolves gone in the hunting party, there wasn't really anyone left to socialize with. Luna was never really very social anyways. She preferred to stay close to a few wolves, not be aquatints with all of them. She turned and began padding through the trees, deciding to travel deeper into the forest than she had before.

Kodiak followed right behind Calla as the moved towards the deer herd. He stalked low and skillfully, his scent hidden by the up-drifting wind. He didn't mind Calla leading this hunt. She was the alpha, after-all. As long as it didn't happen to often, it would be fine to him. As others dispersed and began to approach their own deer, he stalked away from the group. He knew it was pretty much impossible for a wolf to take down a full grown buck alone, so he targeted a smaller buck instead. It would still be harder than taking down a doe, and a good way to prove his leadership. He stalked the buck, getting as close as he could to it. He looked over as Solo brought down a small doe and showed it to Calla proudly, causing the alert to other deer and making them begin to flee. He rolled his eyes at the new comer, but then quickly pulled his attention to his buck as it startled and began to run. Koda was on it's heels immediately, snapping and biting at its back legs. He was finally able to leap up and bite down on the buck's hip. The buck stumbled and fell to the ground. As it fell, Koda released his grip that he had on the buck's hip and leaped for his throat. The buck stood and started to limp away, but Koda was on his neck quickly. He pulled the buck to the ground again, and bit down with the full force of his strong jaws. The buck went limp in his jaws and he released his grip slowly. Koda stood and began to drag to buck into the brush, where he covered it with dirt and then trotted back towards the group to see if anyone else needed help. He had managed to escape with only a small cut on his shoulder from one of the buck's hooves, but he was already beginning to feel tired from all the effort he had put into that kill.
