For roleplaying regular/real-world species with real-world limitations, e.g. cats, dogs, wolves, lions, bears.

The year was 2113. The race of man was flourishing, warring against each other and further invading the animal kingdom. They had begun making slaves of the creatures, 'domesticating' them as they called it. Dogs became hunting companions, horses became pack animals - everything became food. Unfortunately, for man, their untimely demise was at hand. When the first few people began falling ill - they thought nothing of it. But they should have, for not long after the first deaths, many more became sick. They would experience headaches, nausea, blurred vision - becoming weaker and weaker until they eventually died a terrible, slow death - bleeding out of their nostrils, ears, mouths and even eyes. It took six mere months for the disease to completely rid the world of mankind. But the disease didn't stop there. The 'domesticated' animals were next to go, as well as all the smaller creatures. It seemed that their closeness to the humans, as well as their sized, influenced their infection rate. The lager creatures, the wolves, elk and wild horses were slowly becoming infected too, and it was then that they realized they either had to leave their homes, or die along with man.
For months the animals traveled, together, searched for a haven free of the disease, but they found only death. In a last desperate attempt, Numenor, the leader of the group - a large male wolf - turned to the oceans. He had long before seen a place where the ocean bed made a shallow path for miles, but he had never had the guts, nor reason, to follow that path. Now was the time. In single file, those crazy enough to do it, began to cross the ocean. The rocky ridge below the surface that carried them was thin, and in some places very sharp. Ocean water became their only means of hydration after the first day. They lost an elderly female and a young pup, but nothing would deter Numenor from the path. There had to be something on the other end... there just had to. Relentlessly he pushed the group forward - and finally, on the second day - land came into sight. With renewed strength and hope - the group moved faster, reaching the land within hours. And there - they found paradise. A land untouched by death and the disease. A haven. Safety. They named this land Toren.
From the discovery of the land arose two wolf packs, Odin and Ra'zul. Numenor rose to the leadership of Oden, and his daughter, Anouk, gained leadership of Ra'zul. The wolves were so grateful that Numenor had saved their packs that the packs swore allegiance towards each other. Together, they agreed to live in peace with one another. As all good things do, their security too came to an end. Other began flooding to the haven - and one particular female brought the disease with her. Luckily, it was not as ferocious as it had been with man - but it was there, ever eminent. Numenor himself became infected, and soon passed away - bring Anouk herself out of the depths of her land in order to be at her father's burial, where she was secretly assassinated by a wolf hungry for power. Many others died too, and those who remained healthy were suppressed in a constant fear. With the disease, came a foul smelling plant - a hideous act of nature with sticky black flowers that reeked worse than rotting flesh. Many recalled it from the homelands, remembering it to be a nuisance at the time of the first outbreak. Making a connection between the two - one brave wolf decided that in order to try and save his own life, he would eat from the plant. In a miraculous feet, it worked. He was healed of his ailments, and felt anew - even better than he had before. Not too long afterwards, many of the infected took their own small portion of the plant and became healed.
Now the plant is sacred to the packs, and all the animals of the land. The two packs, Odin and Ra'zul, are the keepers of the plant, however only certain wolves are given the privilege to guard the plant. This rank of wolves are called the Watchers, and it is their duty to guard the precious plant. However, with the two leaders gone, who will reign supreme over the packs? Not only the wolves, but the rest of the animals hope that the leaders are chosen wisely. So far, a noble male, Sköll, has been chosen to be the Alpha Male of Odin. However, the question still lingers; who will the other alpha(s) be? Not only that, but the wolf that assassinated Anouk has not yet been discovered, and it is known that the wolf isn't working alone - it has formed a pack of assassins. Now the wolves live in constant fear and horror, always having to watch their backs.

❝ RULES ❞
x - This is a semi-literate roleplay, so please try to post at least one paragraph per post. I understand if you have writer's block.
x - Please try to keep genders even! You can join with one male or one female, but please don't make four males or four females. I will ask you to even the genders out if you do that. Also, for example, if there are 7 males and 4 females, I may ask one of you to kindly make a wolf to even out the genders.
x - You can't enter with a character already pregnant, however your character CAN enter with a pup.
x - Your own characters cannot fall in love with each other.
x - Character's age can only be from 4 months to 12 years. I think that's a pretty decent range.
x - You need to wait for you application to be accepted before you can role-play.
x - You are allowed to reserve a post/rank for up to 3 days.
x - Please try to be a decent human being when it comes to OOC matters.
x - Proper spelling and grammar is always nice to see.
x - As fun as the OOC side can be - don't get lost in it. Always remember that this is an RPG, and that your characters are there to be played. If you wish to chat, please take it to PM.
x - No powerplaying. If it’s something small like ‘John opened the door and once Susan stepped through, he closed it behind her’ then that’s okay with me. But once it starts getting overboard I will issue the perpetrator a warning.
x - No mary-sues or gary-stus. No character is perfect!
x - Violence, swearing etc is allowed as long as it doesn't get gory and if you cuss, please use asterisks.
x - NO SEXUAL STUFFS! If you plan on mating your characters - just say "fade to black" or skip it and somehow suggest it happened.

HIERARCHY ♞Ranks marked with an asterisk (*) are special ranks, meaning in order for you to receive them you have to message me. (:
* Alphas (2, mates) - Alphas are the leaders; they demand utmost respect and have the right to do possibly anything if it is not given. Alphas watch the pack; if there is a fight they watch it and see who the winner is, for promoting. They also keep the ranks at a constant flow. They also lead the packs into hunts; they make sure that the pack moves smoothly so that the hunt doesn't fail. And alpha also relies on the beta to help them. Alphas are by far the strongest and largest of the pack, even of outsiders.
Alpha Pups - These are the pups that the alphas have. They can’t be forced or anything like it. These pups learn well and get babysat by the Zetas. And these wolves will have high ranks when they are grown.
Betas (2, mates) - Betas are thought of as highly among the wolves; they help lead hunts with the alphas and watch fights to find the winner. They can't promote but wolves try to please them. They are of second-in-command and are strong too. They can kill any wolf that gets in their way but the alphas. These wolves are the friends of the alphas. And if the alphas die without any offspring the beta will take their place.
Beta pups - The pups that take Beta’s place. And they can’t be forced. The strongest pups will take the betas place… but If untrustworthy they would be lowered down to a new rank. These pups must be friends with the alpha pups and know everything about being beta and alpha.
Sigmas (2, mates) - Sigmas are still a high ranking wolves but they don't do much. In the hunt they run with the pack but have the power to push them in line if they fail. Sigma does also get a good meal after a hunt. Sigmas are usually of in-pack relations as betas and alphas. Usually a wolf that joined from the outside won't go as high as a Sigma! And if the betas die they will help watch the pack. But if the alphas and Betas die without no offspring the Sigmas will take the lead.
Sigmas Pups - These must know how to be beta pups as well as Sigmas. If the pup is untrustworthy they will be down ranked before they can even grow up. These must know how to help the alphas in many ways.
Selsa (2, mates) - Selsas pretty much hold the same role as Sigmas, they get a little less respect than the Sigmas. A Selsa will watch the pack though. Selsas are somewhat strong, but usually loyalty gets them here. But, in most cases, a wolf must be a good fighter to be a Selsa, they are needed to fight. If for some RARE reason the alphas, betas and Sigmas disappear without any cause, the Selsas will take place as alpha. But this is very rare.
Selsa Pups - They need to know how to be Sigmas if they get to be ranked. One will take place as the Selsas when older… But they will be down ranked if untrustworthy.
Eta (2, mates) - These are the Advisors of the pack. They will help wolves “Solve” their problems and give wolves “advise”. They will come to the border at times and help choose the wolf’s rank. These wolves are trusted by the alphas.
Eta Pups - these pups will need to know how to be smart and help other wolves out. They are the friends to alphas and any body else. They must help the alphas choose what rank the new members get.
Deltas (2, 1 of each gender) - These are the messengers and are respected by the members of the pack. They help with hunts and will help anyone who needs to be. They are tough because they can cross great journeys with no food and water.
Gammas (2, 1 of each gender) – These are the peacemakers. These are very friendly wolves and will try to hold peace in the pack. They are very good at talking out loud and changing people’s minds.
* Watchers (4 of any gender) - These wolves are the ones that watch and guard the plant. Even though this position is not one of the highest ranks, it is considered one of the most important, if not the most important.
Rhos (6 of any gender) - Lead hunters. They help with hunts and get a good meal for helping a lot. These are very good hunters. But they can still be hurt or killed on a hunt...
Lambda (4 of any gender) – These are the Spies. They are respected for all the research they do. They will walk in the other territories and risk being caught. They will spy in other terras that could mean death.
Subordinates (8 of any gender) – These wolves are the lowest of the higher ranks. They are good at healing they will heal any injured wolf that the alpha can’t heal because they are busy.
Kappas (6 of any gender) – These are the strongest wolves. They will kill trespassers on the lands. And save their pack and alphas. They will protect the high ranks even if it means death. They are the first to war.
Omicron (5 of any gender) – These are the guards. They will help kill any wolf that gets though the Kappas. These are very strong as well and will go in with the Kappas to war. They work as a team.
Thetas (unlimited) – These wolves are stronger and will help the Rhos hunt in the packs. They don’t get a very good meal even with their hard work. Yet they are respected for there bravery.
Zetas (unlimited) - They are the first assumed rank most wolves will get. They are the rank that just did something good and are finding their feet in that rank. In some cases zetas may be de-ranked subordinates, which the alphas thought them merely not ready to assume responsibility, helps with babysitting the pups.
Scouts (unlimited) - These are out of the permanent ranking zone and are into the pack wolves. They don't do much, in some cases dominant pups assume this role immediately after growing up. They are strong and have to respect a lot of wolves. They will sometimes patrol other parts of the territory that the alphas are not at currently.
Iota (unlimited) - Iota’s are usually the bulk of the pack. They are most of the pups that just became adults, newer members, and disrespectful wolves that weren't as bad to be omegas. They are slightly like omegas, but given more leeway.
Omegas (5 at most) - These are, usually, the disrespectful wolves, wolves with no relation to anyone else in the pack, or simply the weakest of the pack. They have to respect everyone. There is usually 1 or 2 omegas in a pack and they are given no mercy, hence the nickname 'scapegoat'. In a pack, the wolves may practice their rank and power on the omegas, but wolves, if they tried, can easily get out of this rank, unless they are horribly bad.
Pups (unlimited) - Pups are all the found pups or pack member's pups in the pack. They are the pack wolves that have not yet reached the age of adolescence.
Elders (unlimited) - Elders are those that either have once ruled the pack but lost the pack's alpha position and have been let in or those that were just too old to have a high rank in the pack anymore. They are usually the ones near the pups. With the Zetas, and they have a lot of power. They don’t have to hunt and they stay near the pups almost all the time. This is a rare rank considering Shifters can live forever.

MASTER ASSASSIN - 1 position available
CO MASTER ASSASSIN - position taken
ASSASSINS - 2 positions available
APPRENTICES - 2 positions available
If you would like your character to be a part of the assassins, please PM me. ^^ It does NOT require you to have to kill anyone. Just stir up some drama and make your character sneak around and such. It would be much appreciated if these characters were made because I have a feeling not many people may want their character to be an assassin.

This roleplay is set in the imaginary island known as Toren. It is a beautiful, tropical paradise free of the disease. For an island, it is actually quite large. Many animals inhabit the island such as rabbits, deer, elk, moose, bears, etc. However, there aren't many disputes between the animals because they live in peace. The two packs split the island, Odin getting the east side and Ra'zul getting the west side with plenty of unclaimed territory in between. The assassins like to lurk in the shadows on the far north side of the island, where they go unseen. There is plenty prey, and as for the peace, as far as killing goes, as long as the predator respects the prey for giving its life, all is well. There is a beautiful forest on the island. This is where most of the animals thrive. The south side of the island is perhaps the most unique, which is why the wolves left the land unclaimed. They did this so everyone can enjoy the beauty. There is a river that runs from the end of Odin territory to the middle of Ra'zul territory. The river breaks off at one point and leads to a waterfall.

NICKNAME; None
AGE; 4 years
GENDER; Male
RELATIONSHIPS
CRUSH; No one
MATE; No one
PUPS; None
KIN; Mother - deceased
Father - deceased
Five siblings - deceased
BACKGROUND
HISTORY; ---
PERSONALITY; As far as first impressions go, Sköll is as wildly variable as the birdsong of early spring. He is alternately a shameless show-off, flaunting himself and his words with a magician’s flair – or as silent as the grave, secluding himself to the shadows and stalking through his environment with a practiced and feline grace. It is important to note that he does what he wants – unless caught off-guard, every twitch in his body language and every word from his lips is carefully crafted; to what end only he knows.
Of course, that's only first impression. Sköll is a rather determined soul. Once his mind is set to something, there is no stopping him. He definitely isn't afraid to fight, and never backs down from a challenge. However, he isn't blood driven. He has skillful coordination in fights, his top skills being strength, stamina, and intellect. He lacks in speed, but that doesn't stop him. Sköll was born with natural leadership skills. This includes decision-making, physical attributes, intelligence, and plenty of other good leadership qualities. This makes him an especially good Alpha.
SKILLS; Strength, stamina, intellect
PACK LIFE
PACK; Odin
RANK; Alpha Male
THE BASICS
NAME; Noelle
NICKNAME; None
AGE; 2 1/2 years
GENDER; Female
RELATIONSHIPS
CRUSH; No one
MATE; No one
PUPS; None
KIN; Mother - deceased
Father - deceased
Three siblings - unknown
BACKGROUND
HISTORY; ---
PERSONALITY; Noelle can come across as hard and cold, due to the emotion strain on her life. She never stayed in one place for long, being moved from one place to the other by her parents - and then later on, just her mother - as early as two weeks old. Sporting an awfully good poker face, Noelle is good at acting, but unless she is doing it for business she does not set out to intentionally deceive on first meetings. In fact, she is blunt, and will not hesitate and telling others 'how it is'. After all, what's the point in sugar coating the truth? She may seem a little tactless and harsh, but she has had to survive independently from an early age, and hasn't needed to cater for others or look out for them, it's always been about number one. Selfish? Perhaps, but it's the way she was raised to be.
Once she has gained an ally, she sees them as her responsibility, and will rarely act childish or immature because she didn't really have a childhood. She played nurse to her three younger siblings, being the most physically able, independent and maternally-inclined of the litter. She was more concerned about feeding her family than with being social, which explains why she doesn't exactly have 'people skills'. She is elusive, mysterious, and although she can be rather blunt and cold, she does have a vulnerable side. However, this vulnerable side is something she will only show around friends and family. She is a guarded individual, not wishing to show weakness around those she doesn't trust one hundred percent, just in case they use it to their advantage.
She is a 'survivalist', skilled in hunting, tracking and generally keeping herself out of sight to the point of being lethal in certain situations. The female is good at thinking outside the box, and has a strong sense of intuition. Noelle is very strong, in all senses of the word, as well as stubborn and determined. She will thoroughly think things through, only acting on impulse when action is required immediately. She will do anything to survive, which may make her seem a little ruthless, but she isn't bad, or particularly immoral. Even though she can sometimes be a bit self-centered and self-reliant, there are occasions where she shows a noble side, protecting those she loves. For example, caring and looking out for her siblings when their mother died. She will not walk on whilst another is being wrongly persecuted, and feels a strong instinct to defend those weaker than herself.
SKILLS; Hunting, tracking, stealth, speed
PACK LIFE
PACK; The Assassins
RANK; Co Master Assassin
