Akira whined, trying to speed up. She finallly gave up and lowered her head and tucked her tail, walking slowly.

Ballad blinked as he watched, he was confused, and once more he was alone, he went to hunt by himself.

He stopped behind her. A pained look was on his face. "Akira.....I'm sorry.." He turned and trotted back to where Ballad was. "Sorry about that.."

She settled Blaze and then looked at him. "Remember that time when I pretended to forget who you were? You said that another dog had forgotten who you were. Who was it?"

"My mom..." he whispered. "And my dad..." he whined. "They BOTH pretended they forgot who I was..." he said quietly, then curled into a tight ball.

Akira kept her head down. A single tear splashed onto the ground.
