Shade sits outside of Rose's den for a while then moves so he was laying between Rose's den and the nursery, standing, well laying, guard.

Rose saw Shade and sighed. She was sad, that her life was going down hill that she needed to find another mate to take care of her and respect her cub. She whispered in her cub's ear "Welcome Blake" she smiled and licked his head

Shade sits up when he hears a sound from the tall grass across the camp from where he and the dens were, it sounded like a hyena crackle, he stands and bristles up his thick black mane and snarls.

A small pack of 3 hyenas come into the camp, they have smelt the newborns and blood from the births, they try to get to the dens behind Shade, but the big male lion had other ideas. Shade roars and slaps a hyena with his claws, sending it yelping away and killed another, the third one almost got to Rose's den, but Shade drags it away by its back leg and tears it to peices.

Rose gasped at th hyenas and noticed 2 yellow glowing eyes coming towards her and her cub, one hyena that Shade missed.
She picked up her cub and put him in the far side of the den and she growled showing her teeth. She snapped at the air visciously and bit its nose making it scared, the it ran off

Shade pads back to camp with blood on his muzzle and paws, he sees the hyena Rose bit run out of her den and he grabs it and pins it down, he roars in its face and claws it up pretty badly and lets it escape. Maybe it will tell its friends not to come here anymore.

Rose was surprisingly scared of the hyena. But her mother in her kicked in and wasnt happy. She looked back at her cub and he was squirming around because of all the noise. Rose lay around him keeping him warm.

Shade growls and paces around the camp infront of the dens, he faces the tall grass and lands beyond and roars, a loud and clear warning for anyone brave enough to try and attack this pride.

Akira perked her ears, and all the cubs started to cry. "Shush, yound ones." she said over and over again, but they wouldnt stay quiet. She groaned.

Jake heard the roar and growled. He did hear Rose though, he crept across the river and snuck into her den. He smiled and nuzzled Rose. "Hey sis" he winked at her

Rose smiled at Jake, a little shocked he came over here. "Hey Jay"
