road stood there for a minute as he tried to figure out which way to go. He guessed he looked pathetic to a dog who has been on the streets for a long time, but that seemed to be all he was, a pathetic show dog that wasn't good enough to stay. His drooped some as he just strarted walking along the street.

Delilah woke up, blinking her bleary eyes at the bright sunlight streaming into her face. She squinted, lifting her head. Where am I? she thought, looking around. Her mouth was as dry as sand and her bones jutted out from underneath her matted pelt. It all came back to her in a rush. She was on the streets.

[kay.]

Milestone barked at the two dogs. He sighed.

Delilah pricked her ears as the sound of barking floated through the morning air. She strained to hear what the dog was saying, staying completely still, but she sighed with defeat, slumping back into the gutter.

Gypsy stopped when he heard barking,she turned around but couldnt see anyone,seeing noone she decided to lay down in the gutter for a rest.

Delilah swiped her tongue around her dry mouth and decided to try. She struggled to her paws, her thin legs trembling with effort. she raised her delicate nose to the air, catching the fresh scent of water. She stumbled towards it, plunging her muzzle into the puddle and drinking appreciatively. The water was stale and was tainted with human scent, but at the moment it tasted like the clearest, sweetest water in the world.

Riley shuddered, remembering the time she had been captured by, [i]Them..[/i] She stood up, licking Xavier effectionatly before turning to the rising sun. Her beautiful coat shone in the morning light and she sighed gently. She lowered her head to see her reflection in the river and a tear rolled down her cheek as she remembered her lost pup. She had once had a mate but only loved him for the pup he had prouduced, Carlione. The little puppy had died of illness before he was a week old, she longed for pups again, but this time with someone she loved.

Delilah licked her muzzle, drops of water catching the sun as the fell from her red fur. She carefully shook herself, her pelt glowing crimson in the sunlight. She sighed, soldiering on. She scented the air, raiding some garbage cans for breakfast. It was a hard life, living on the streets, but she managed... barely.

Calypso sighed, though she was blind she could tell her friend has found someone. I guess I'm not needed anymore, I shouldn't get in the way. She thought. Calypso got up, accidently banging her head on the box. "Ow!" she spat, shaking her head.

Xavier was going to lick her back, but the sound of Calypso caught his attention. He stood and slowly walked back towards her. "Are you alright, miss?" He always had been trained to address females as Miss or Ma'am, and males as sir or soldier. He knew Rileys name, so he didn't have to say Miss or Ma'am. He just forgot this females name. "Did the box give you a morning slap?" He tried to say something funny, but he never did have the skill for it.
