Shadow wasn't ready when Mello pounced, she jumped out of her bush and jumped on the doe grabbing it's neck, hoping that Ocean would bring the doe down.

(Sorry, school concert thing. Somehow got convinced to let people paint on my face and now have a potential break-out. Bleh.)

His weight shifted so evenly as he traversed the clearing that he made no sound at all. Nothing more than blades of grass stirred, even the lark's, nestled in their hollows, were oblivious. His breathing was so shallow that it appeared that he was not breathing at all. His stomach was clenched in knots, but he assumed from anxiety, neglecting the fact that this was the third sunrise that he had not feasted in. Now, sure that he was close enough to sprint and catch it by surprise, he prepared himself. Every tendon and ligament seemed to hold its breath as he crouched, legs coiled as tightly as springs, ready to be set off by the gentlest of motions. Just as he was about to launch the attack a loud, snarling sound was emitted from what seemed to be directly behind him. It stunned him to realize only a fraction of a second later that it was his stomach, gurgling and moaning at the temptation just beyond reach. His head snapped towards the doe, who was now on high-alert, ears perked and eyes bright. She spotted him almost as soon as he had realized that he had to act now. Just as the doe turned to bolt, he had sprung and was upon her. His teeth produced a loud clicking noise as his jaws snapped shut just a fraction of an inch from the doe's heels. Silently he cursed himself; because of him they may have lost their kill. He only hoped that one of the others would be fast enough to cut the doe off and bring it down...

(Sorry it took me so long to reply! Can everyone look at the first page(first post)? I made some changes. I added the Wolf talk. I may also make a new rule. I'll have to think about it a little longer.)

Ocean leaped out hitting the doe with her front paws. This knocked the doe over on her side struggling to get up. Ocean bit into the back of her neck as hard as she could.

Watching grimly, Mello's posture became rigid. He had nearly cost them the hunt. Ocean's bite had been well aimed and the doe's body now occasionally spasmed, bright black eyes fading as it threw a few final kicks of its legs. His ears slanted back and he sighed heavily, both relieved and upset with himself. "Wow, sorry I fudged it up," he chortled, adding a sly grin to mask his internal conflict.

Ocean released the grip on the doe and lifted her head up. "It's alright. I'm sure you didn't mean to," she said with a slight smile.

Shadow whined happily, "At least we brought the doe down." She pranced around celebrating the kill.
