Ocean thought for a moment, and then she replied, "Yes, a hunt does sound good to me." She got up on all fours and said smiling, "you lead the way!"

Mello got up, ears perking as he looked around for a second, nostrils flaring as he sought out any trace of prey. He began to aimlessly pace around the vast woodlands in pursuit of a scent trail, and it was some time before he found one that was suitably fresh. It was a deer, a lone doe. Looking over his shoulder to Ocean, he nodded and then set out in a brisk jog. His body fluidly maneuvered over and around any obstacles, stride lengthening naturally. The doe had to be close, but he couldn't seem to find her. He could smell her but dared not get much closer for fear of spooking her. Coming to a halt, he looked to Ocean for help. "Do you see it?" he murmured softly.

He nodded and sniffed the air again, smelling the doe but still unable to see her a midst the shrubbery. Sighing, he lowered himself to the ground, inching forwards into a dense wall of bushes. He peered out, eyes immediately finding a vast clearing. On the opposite side of the clearing was the doe, grazing obliviously, ears swatting to and fro. He could feel himself salivating as he struggled to keep his composure. Inching back to Ocean, he murmured, "I see her. We'll need to split up."

Mello flicked an ear irritably. "Shhh, get down," he breathed, voice no louder than the beating of a hummingbird's wings. Nodding to the new wolf with approval, he looked to Ocean and then began to crawl silently towards the doe, signaling that the hunt had started.
