I smiled, well... it was more of a grin. I was so happy. But I couldn't just stay here, out in the open, where any stallion could try and claim my prize. Come on, we should go. I said softly, flicking my ears towards the hollow I had been sleeping in. It wasn't far away. I was tired, but I knew I could make it. She looked vigorous and healthy, but she did need to know where to return to whenever she got lost. I walked slowly into the forest and smiled at her, summoning her with a flick of my tail.

"Alright," I agreed, smiling. I followed Death into the forest, still smiling, and quite happy with my decision.

(Sorry for short post. XD Not feeling very creative at the moment.)

As I walked through the dark forest I felt calmer and at-ease. I loved the plains. They were the best place to run free, seek mares, play games. But I belonged in a forest. My dark coat blended in to the shadows. I could run through the woods, silent, swift, deadly, leaving to trace. I was a ghost. But now, the ghost had an angel. I looked at her tenderly. She was beautiful. As I neared the hollow I slowed down to a walk, as the vegetation was thick. Cruel and unforgiving thorns tore at my hide. I hoped she wouldn't run. I knew she wouldn't. She was determined.

I followed Death loyally. My not-so-dark coat didn't fit in well in the forest, but Death was in the forest, so I didn't care. As I looked into the shadows around us I imagined how I might look against them. A white star, bringing light to the darkness? A ghostly horse flitting through the shadows, unable to camoflague? What would I look like. I smiled at Death and kept following him.

I snorted gently at her, flicking an ear. This way. I breathed, parting the bracken to reveal the secret hollow. It was large and almost perfectly round, surrounded by trees and bushes and with a large, overhanging rock wall. A stream trickled on the top of the rock and fell of the rim, forming a tiny pool of clear water beneath it. the floor was sandy and dry with a few clumps of moss growing. Grass and ferns sprouted around the pool. A perfect place to keep my little herd.

I smiled and followed Death. As I entered the little hollow, I looked around at the magical little place. Delighted, I walked around. I nuzzled the soft ferns and grass. I dipped my delicate muzzle into the cool water and gently nudged the cushy moss. It was perfect. I raised my head and smiled delightedly at Death.
"This place is amazing," I murmured happily. "It's perfect."

I smiled as she explored the hollow like an excited foal. I tossed my head with happiness, happiness that she loved the place as much as I did. I was afraid you weren't going to like it. I admitted, walking over to the pool and taking a short drink. I lifted my head and met her eyes, smiling broadly.

Just Say It|Mare|4 Years and 21 days|Nightmare's Herd
Shay nuzzled Nightmare affectionately. He had led them to a safe place, a place to think over Pepper's death. Dropping her head to the green, untouched grass, she eagerly ripped up a few mouthfuls. I wonder if Nightmare was injured by the lion, she thought worriedly, her head jerking back up. Blowing into Nightmare's nosrtils lightly, "are you hurt?" Shay asked him.

Sergent|Stallion|6 years and 9 days|
Snorting, Sarge watched warily as the mare backed away. "What help do you assume I'm trying to offer, other than to show you a good place to get the muck off your coat?" He questioned, tail flicking the flies from his golden coat. (Sorry, a bit of writer's block)

Spot The difference|Mare|6 Years and 2months|
Spotty sighed, thta she hadn't hurt the filly. Snorting, she reached out and touched the filly's small, but soft muzzle, blowing a hello into it. "Where's your mother" She asked, concerned. "It's not safe for a mare to go around unprotected, let alone a young filly."

"Why wouldn't I like it?" I snorted happily, dipping my muzzle into the water to take a long drink. I raised my head, my muzzle dripping with water, and looked at Death. "It's wonderful," I told him. "I couldn't imagine a better place to live."

I snorted happily, my eyes shining like stars. I smiled at her and moved slightly closer. I couldn't imagine anybody more perfect to live with. I said tenderly, my dark mane falling into me eyes.
