Kaycia | Darren | Scarlet | Cole | Lilah | Shiro
Plink...plink...plink
Small hollowed drops of rain echoed into the beta's ears. She slowly fluttered her eyelids open, displaying her liquid-gold orbs. They blinked away sleep, though it ebbed away quickly because of the cold. No fight. To cold to do anything but move. The chilled dame yawned and slid two feet and her head out of the den, a strip of leaves dragging on her clean cream-colored fur. Kaycia noted no snow and shook her pelt, quietly padding off to a small pond of water. Fresh dew from the bedraggled grass crunched loudly and she took a deep breath for fresh air. Her routine was same-old; her getting up second, scanning camp, waiting for her pack to wake, and sometimes they'd fetch breakfast. Mostly game nowadays, for the land grew dry.
The white fae jumped gracefully and curled her tail over her paws to chill he sweat that grew in her fur overnight. Ears alert and swiveling, nose twitching, eyes sharp: not even a bird chirp could be heard. In the dead silence Kaycia heard faint crushing to her left. Her head shot out with such sharpness her neck grew warm with pain. The alphess cleared her throat, rolled her haunches backward and scenting the air. Wolves. And...Darren? Darren looked so much like their father Jagger. Except for the eyes, for Darren's were a a deep forest green like their uncle. It was in fact the anniversary of their mother's passing, but she didn't have the guts to inform her brother. It would bring back to many bad memories, and probably disrupt the bickering packs. Kaycia's pack was known as the better one in spirit, Darren's said to be wicked because of Jagger. Her brother fixed it though. Kind of. If there is one thing she learned from her vile memories, it is they can't be erased.
The young dingo scanned the territory. She would renew the markings today for any intruders. Small sprouts of yellowed grass poked up from the dry dirt, lacking what it had been in the summer time. The frigid-ness of it all dragged her back to the past. Someone in particular was pulling her. The very same wolf who is searching for them and out for blood. Kaycia shivered at the thought and her pelt twitched slightly. Quickly, she darted of alpha rock at the scent of other strange wolves. With the sun behind her head, she looked somewhat of an angel. She was a beauty, though she'd never admit it. The young, slender fae glanced at the skirts of the trees to see a brute. She cocked her head, her eyes serene and cool, she realized itwas just Lilah and Shiro.
Lilah creeped up behind Cody,"Hi," She said shyly, golden-white tail wagging wildly. Shiro appeared aswell, jumping over his sister. "Hey." He echoed, grinning. The two sat next to eachother, ears swiveling.
Scarlet nudged Cole, her brother, as she got out of her den. The female panted at the hot sun, yet was somewhat cold for some reason. It can be frigid at nigt in the desert. Well, alot.
