Valley frowned. "But was it your fault? Or did both happen spontaneously?" she asked, realizing the little wolf felt guilty. "Do you want some food?" she asked, pulling a rabbit she had caught earlier and dropping it in front of her. "We can talk after you eat."

Faith silently padded over, and began to inspect the wound. She wordlessly flicked her tail, which her brother correctly interpreted and trotted off, bringing back herbs. She gently put the soothing herbs on the wound, and bound it with moss.

Bracken got herbs for faith, then he sat and watched as she bound Shadows leg. "Is she ok?" he asked, concerned for his dancing friend.

Shadow woke up when Faith waved some strange smelling herbs under her nose. "Thank you Faith." Shadow weakly coughed. "Where's Rose?" Shadow suddenly remembered that her friend thought she had nearly killed her. Shadow tried to stand up, failing. "Bracken, tell Rose it isn't her fault." Shadow whimpered urgently at Bracken.

Dancing Bracken shrugged awkwardly. "She's gone. I'll go find her!" he barked, then took off.

Rose pushed the rabbit away."No thanks I ate"she said."My brother died after he fell into a river,he drowned"she began."Then Shadow nearly died when I tried leading her across the river on some rocks".

Shadow didn't try to fight Faith, she lay down again, hoping that Bracken would find Rose.

Valley smiled sympathetically. "It was not your fault, dear." she said, and she recalled the sour black wolf that she had tried to help. "Some things in life you can not control, and sometimes there are things you can. Your brother drowning and your friend nearly drowning, you could not possibly control that."

His name was Coldsnap, and I loved him. He passed away in battle, but he left me with two young pups. You would know them. They are Dancing Bracken and Faith."

Valley watched as the fae skittered away, and Bracken arrived, freezing on site. "Hello, Dancing Bracken." she said softly. "And . . . no, I have not seen one. A strange scent is here, perhaps she passed through to the mountains." she lied.

Bracken tore through the undergrowth, following Rose's scent. He suddenly burst into a meadow, and nearly into his mother. "Mo-mother?" he shook his head. "Hey, mother. Um . . . have you seen a fae around?" he nodded, then began to call, "Rose! Rose, please come here!"
