Lifting my head I gazed across the plain, straining my eyes to cach sight of any movement. I snorted softly, then started forward in a steady walk so that my head bobbed with every step. My ears were set forward. After almost a month of being all alone without so much as seeing another horse, I was simply eager to even just catch a glimpe of another even if I couldn't meet them in person.

Crash

I slowed to a walk as I entered the sun lit forest.The scent of the horses got fainter,but was still there,giving me hope.Ace followed me closely."Coward",I said to him,stopping and letting him lead."I doubt something will get you in here.You can see everything and hear everything".Ace flattened his ears at me and trotted on ahead a bit.

Crash found my fears and me being smaller amusing and it annoyed me when she made fun of me.She trotted up beside me and nuzzled me in apology.I flattened my ears again,still annoyed with her.After two more strides of walk,I started to feel a little scared,so I turned around and headed back out to the plains.I whinnied loudly,hoping there was another horse around to hear it.

I slowly took the rose in my grasp and stared into his eyes. I blushed slightly and, kept gazing at him. "Thanks" I whispered in a poetic voice. "I've never felt like this before" I thought constantly. I managed to get myself out of the trance, and sighed, happily. I looked off in the near distance, spotting a small stream. The scent of another stallion and a mare drew closer. "Do you smell that?" I nickered, curiously.

My ears suddenly flickered to the sound of another equine. I jerked my head to the side, nostrils flaring as I searched for the caller of that whinny. I rose my head and replied to the whinny before setting off again, swishing my bi-coloured tail before breaking forth into a strong trot.

I smiled as she took the rose, "Smell what?" I asked sticking my nose into the air. " A stallion" I yelled, lashing out and kicking my front feet out. "I don't want any silly stallion taking my mare" I said aloud to myself. "Come on my pretty" I said to the mare, as I started to run towards the scent of the stallion. As I got closer I could smell a mare in the mix too, but I wasn't worried about her just the stallion.

The scent of the stallion and the mare came back.I could hear some horses approaching,but I let out another shrill whinny hoping the horse that had whinnied to me would come.Crash turned to the sound of the other coming.I flattened my ears and reared slightly,hoping that the stallion would be alright."What if he only takes me?"Crash said worriedly."I won't let that happen",I replied.

My mood, changed immediently, when Off Course dashed towards the scent. I followed along, too, wondering what we will recover. I caught up to Off Course's side, still sensing a mare, and stallion ahead. My mane, and tail and flew, like wings, along with Off Course's, too. I tried to focous on the moving objects in the near distance. "Do you think, that's them?" I whinnied loudly, over the thunder of our hoves beating against the ground.

Crash spotted them before I did.She whinnied loudly and nudged me,scared.I whipped around and watched the horses approach,keeping my stance non stiff and my ears pricked.I didn't want to fight this stallion because he was visible taller and more muscular than me,but I was determined that I wasn't going let him take Crash away from me.She was my best friend.

After a few minutes of trotting pointlessly, I slowed back into an even pace. Once again I whinnied in a louder voice, even rearing up to try and project my voice across a larger range. I dropped back down onto all four hooves, gazing around restlessly. I could smell other horses, stallions and mares coming from opposite directions of my whereabouts.
