Ruby galloped harder, pushing herself as hard as she could go. She knew Ice was pulling ahead very easily, but continued to gallop. She skidded to a halt, re-covering her still wet coat in dust. "Hi!"

Bay looked into the water and saw a foal standing next to her. The foal was a mini image of her but when she looked up she didnt see anyone. I wish I had a family

I sighed and scanned the area, I was lonely and was almost wishing to go back to the humans, the other horses gave me company, but her I'm totally by myself.

I watched the sun warm my face then started to walk slowly towards the place were the wildfire had been.

Berlin flared his nostrils and nipped playfully at Violet's rump. "Careful, I smell another stallion," he warned. They were close enough to the lake that he kept an eye on the distant figure of Bay, too.

Suki tossed her head and pranced around the lake, coming up short when she got close to a burned-out tree. She extened her neck ad sniffed it, her breaths causing mini-clouds of ash.

Kite galloped hard, every now and again pausing to scent the air. He could smell mares, but stallions, too. A thought crossed his mind, and he swerved sharply. His proud head was carried high, and he bellowed.

Ninja raised her head from the stream, her chin dripping with water, as a new stallion's bugle echoed across the plains. She snorted, her nostrils flared as she raised her muzzle higher in the air. Cattle-dung and thistle patches, not another one, she thought crossly to herself.

Berlin Flatted his ears and arched his muscular neck as he let loose an answering call. My turf, my mares, it said.
