Berlin paced in the water, the smoke still thick in the air. "Everyone's fine. We need to get to the other side of the lake. The river to the north and the marshes to the south will stop the fire from spreading over there."

"Can you help me up?" Violet asked weakly, struggling to get up out of the lake.

Berlin lowered his head and pushed her to her feet. "You ok?" he asked.

Violet nodded. "Yeah, it's just the smoke getting into my lungs." She said and feebly walked towards the marsh.

Berlin gently nudged her forward. "Bay, are you coming?"

Still coughing up little portions of water, Violet led the way to the marshes. When she got there she stood in the cold water and hoped the fire would end soon.

She watched the horses and snorted. She thought they were crazy or stupid to do something like that, she was confused
